WHY DO PEOPLE JOIN PTA??
They like the programs offered to children/families
They want to help provide resources for classroom use
They believe in the mission of advocating for every child
They like to volunteer They want to make friends
MOST IMPORTANT IS TEAMWORK
“It takes a whole village to raise a child.” Mission: children PTA= parent engagement and teachers supported Board of Directors must promote PTA
This cannot be done by the Membership chair alone! Board of Directors must support and promote
Personally ask people – don’t be afraid, think about how you would feel if someone asked you
Remember the “T” in PTA Teachers are a great resource and want to feel
part of the plan
