Our Featured Part for the month of March was fabricated

in our CNC machine shop. We started with a 2.5”

diameter piece of 316L stainless steel round bar and used

our CNC lathe to remove as much material as possible,

bringing many of the features to their final dimensions,

and leaving some others rough cut. But they didn’t stay and leaving some others rough cut. But they didn’t stay

rough cut for long because the second operation was the

final operation. Next the parts were loaded in our vertical

CNC mill and had the final features machined. More

efficiency was gained by our CNC operator creating a

fixture to hold multiple parts at one time.
