Luwa Turbine Minipleat Filters – the superior solution
LuwaTMP filters remove airborne partic-ulate matter from combustion engine in-take air, providing full protection fromfouling, corrosion and erosion of the tur bines key components. TMP filters aremost suitable for gas turbines, dieselengines, compressors and air condi-tioning units for power plants, offeringlower pressure drop and extended life. The Luwa TMP filters are available in 7 efficiencies, two pleating densities andtwo designs. Used in combination withthe Luwa GS synthetic pocket filterrange, they offer optimised efficiency/life time relationship at the lowest pres-sure drop.
When selecting a combination of pre-filters and final filters, one should con-sider:● the co-ordination of the filters effcien-
cies,● the optimisation of the dust holding
capacity,● the minimisation of the overall system
pressure drop.
Tests confirm that the dust holding ca-pacity of the final filter is reduced withincreasing arrestance of the prefilter(see Fig. 1).
Is Cost Important to You?The cost performance of combined filterstages depends on the interaction ofthe filter efficiency of the prefilter withthat of the final filter and hence it’s ef-fect on the overall system dust holding

● GS-G4 (350 mm) + TMP-F8:150 Pa @ 3400 m3/h215 Pa @ 4250 m3/h
These low pressure drops – a typicalproperty of the Luwa filter systems –offer on one hand significant higher po-wer output of the engine and thus ashorter pay back period of the invest-ment. The high dust holding capacitieson the other hand assure low mainte-nance and replacement cost.
Luwa GS/TMP filters are designed for amodule air flow of 4250 m3/h (2500cfm). Compared with the traditional3400 m3/h (2000 cfm) units they offer20% space saving for a comparable lifeexpectancy. When traditional units witha module air flow of 3400 m3/h are ex-changed, the Luwa filter combinationtypically doubles the life.
capacity. For a given final filter efficiency, both a too low and a too high prefilterarrestance increase overall cost. Thehigher the efficiency of the final filterstage, the narrower is the resulting sec-tor for an optimal choice of the prefilterstage (see Fig. 2).
Based on these facts and on extensivepractical experiance, Luwa specialistsare happy to assist you in the selectionof optimal pre and final filter combina-tions, tailored to your local environmen-tal and operating conditions.
How We Reduce Your CostThe initial pressure drop of the LuwaTMP filter combination is extremely low.

Luwa TMP and TMPC Fine Dust Filters
Luwa TMP and TMPC fine dust filters are available in efficiency rates of 70, 86, 93, 96 and 98% to ASHRAE 52.1-92and in filter classes F6 to F9 to EN 779respectlvely. The mlcro glass flbre paperis mini pleated, formed into mats andsealed into a fully welded plastic framein a four-V arrangement. Unique hollowprofiles feature an extremely rigid andlight-weight filter (5.3 kg only). Maximumopen face area results in lowest pres- sure drop and extended filter mediumarea in maximum dust holding capacity.A fully potted HEPA-tigth version,TMPC, with conical plates for optimalwater dralnage is also avalable.Luwa TMP and TMPC fine dust filters, with the standard dimensions 592 x592 x 300 mm, are interchangeable withcommonly used filters and fit mostframes.

Luwa TMP Filter
Luwa TMPC Ultrafilters are available innominal efficiency rates of 90%, 97%and 99.9% for 0.3 µm DOP to US Mil. Std. 282 and in filter classes H10, H11and H12 to EN 1822 respectively. They are designed in the same way as the TMPC fine dust filters, described onpage three.
Luwa TMPC Ultrafilters are designed tomeet the requirements of the latestgenerations of ultra-efficient GT's whichare very sensitive to submicron particles. The Ultrafilters are available in the fullypotted HEPA-tight TMPC version only, due to the higher tightness requirementsof the higher efficiencies.
