Welcome to the 2016 Tech Thursday Lunch & Learn Course Work
Mission:
In today’s market, social media & technology is the new wave in obtaining new business.
Our goal is to train, educate and assist our members in comprehending all the technological
resources available in the market today. During the course of 2016 PCBOR in correlation with
Absolute Home Mortgage Corporation will be holding monthly training workshops on
different aspects of social media and technology. This information is vital to building your
online brand & footprint. The training workshops will be a hands on learning experience.
What you will learn:
The information given in this training series is vital to building your online brand & foot print.
The training workshops will be hands on learning, an expert social media presenter and
technical assistants will be present to assist you during each session. Attendees are
encouraged to bring their laptop computers or mobile tablets to each session for a hands on
experience. Each attendee will be presented with a course completion certificate at the
end of each session.
What to Bring:
We are a big believer in knowing is doing! That’s why this course work will be hands on. We
encourage each attendee to take advantage of the Technical Teaching Assistants “TTA’s”
that will be present at each session. Here is our recommend list of items to bring:
• Laptop- Computer
• Digital Professional Picture
o 100 x 200- Minimum Resolution
• Notepad & Pen or Pencil
• Optional: Tablet computer or Smart Phone
• List of Current Social Media Accounts with Passwords

Session 1: Hands on Workshop: Facebook
Creating a Business Page101
Date & Time: Thursday Jan. 28th 10 am – 12:30 pm
Mission: In this session you will learn how to create a Facebook for business page and
implement the basic functionality of Facebook to use in your everyday business.
Covered Course Work:
What is What? Facebook personal pages vs Facebook professional pages.
Create your Page: A hands on experience to creating a Facebook for business page
Branding your Page: Choosing the proper site banner, name tag & professional picture is key to your
online brand.
Using your Page: Likes, Tags, Posts & how to use Facebook terminology.

Session 2: Hands on Workshop: Facebook
For Business (Intermediate Course)
Date & Time: Thursday Feb. 25th 10 am – 12:30 pm
Mission: In this session you will learn how to use a Facebook for business page and
implement the basic functionality of adding customizations to your page such as links to your
website, custom tiles & fun plug in’s .
Covered Course Work:
Advanced page setup: Tabs & links learn how to create custom tabs on your professional page to
direct customers where you need them to be online.
Share and promote your page: learn how to promote your Facebook page to your sphere of
influence
Target your audience: Learn demographic filtering within Facebook paid promotions.
Session 3: Hands on Workshop: Facebook for Business
For Business (Advanced Course)
Date & Time: Thursday Mar. 31th 10 am – 12:30 pm
Mission: In this session you will learn advanced Facebook for business tactics on generating
new business
Covered Course Work:
Advertising using Facebook: Generate more site traffic to both your sphere of influence and new
potential clients.
Posting Listings &Videos: Upload your new listing and show it off to the world!
What to post do’s & Don’ts: Be fun, be informative don’t be annoying. Learn the best usage of
Facebook posting and how to keep consumers interested.
Session 4: Instagram vs Pinterest
The Battle of Picture Systems
Date & Time: Thursday Apr. 28th 10 am – 12:30 pm
Mission: In this session you will learn the differences between Instagram & Pinterest and the
best execution uses for each.
Covered Course Work:
Set up your Pinterest page: Learn the best usage of Pinterest and get help from onsite Social
Media experts
Brand Similarity: A picture is worth a thousand words. Carry your brand through all of your
online presence.
Posting Pictures: How to upload and post and how it can be fun! Go Mobile and post form your
smart phone
What to Pin: What content is best to pin to Pinterest?
Prompting listings: Why is Pinterest & Instagram great for listings?
Pinterest Plugin: Post your board on your blog or personal agent site
Session 5: Google Plus & YouTube
How to get your listings on googles front page for free
Date & Time: Thursday May 26th 10 am – 12:30 pm
Mission: In this session you will learn the basic to advanced functions of google plus,
YouTube and their integrations with search engines like Google.

Session 6: Twitter & Blogging
Tweet your way to a new Business & Position yourself as the expert
Date & Time: Thursday Jun. 30th 10 am – 12:30 pm
Mission: In this session you will learn the power of information Do you currently have a blog?
Learn to create a blog in your daily business
Covered Course Work:
Best execution: All this technology tends to blend together. Which system works best for your goals?
Twitter: Learn how to compose a Tweet, use a hashtag, and discover conversations related to your
business. Once you understand the basics of Twitter you can use the platform to achieve your
business goals.
Hashtag Usage: Generate more business using hashtags.
Tagging & Links: Upload your new listing and show it off to the world!
Video: How to create a virtual tour or general property video on the fly.
Blogging Basics: Learn different topics to cover in your blog and why it is important to present your
knowledge online.
Tumbler and its Blogging use: Learn the basics behind tumbler and how you can use the system to
expand your sphere of influence.
Promote your blog using word press: Get your message out there, generate traffic to your blog using
social media.

Session 7: Become a Social Media Expert – Maximize your time and

Mission: In this session you will learn the best systems for posting to multiple social media
accounts using social media management tools.
Covered Course Work:
Social Media Management Systems: Learn different SM Management systems to automate your
posts.
Automate Posts and Manager your schedule: Learn how to spend 20 minutes for a months’ worth of
posts, automate new content everyday
Mondays are the worst! Make a Monday fun. Recover from the weekend by browsing the internet for
fun content to send to your followers.
