Introduction to LWPLumsdon Wood Partnership are a Quantity Surveying, Project Management and Principal Designer practice, based in Chester-le-Street, Co Durham.We have been trading continually since 1954 and undertake projects throughout the United KingdomLumsdon Wood Partnership specialise in many areas but, over the last 25 years, we have specialised in Motor Retail undertaking many of these projects over the past 25 years.
PersonnelThe business is run by two directors, David Huitson and Darrin Marshall who have both been with the company for over 25 years. Backed up by a dedicated team, the ethos of the the practice is the deliver a bespoke and personal service with a teamwork approach to ensuring excellent project delivery.
Motor Retail ProjectsAs mentioned previously, Lumsdon Wood Partnership have undertaken many car dealerships over the years and have accumulated a large amount of knowledge in this area.We have and are currently working for many motor retail companies such as:• Inchcape• Lloyd Motor Group• Springfield• Thompson Motors• Ocean Automotive• Bristol Street Motors• Mill Garages• Harratts Group
Motor Retail ProjectsWe have set out below a small snapshot of some of the Motor Retail projects that we have undertaken or that are on site. This gives a flavour of the work we undertake.• BMW Durham
– Construction of the BMW and Mini dealership on a greenfield site and subsequent CI update– Original build £2.2M in 2006 with subsequent CI update in 2014
Motor Retail Projects• BMW Boldon
– Construction of original Mercedes dealership, subsequent CI to convert to BMW dealership, new separate Mini dealership and recent CI update and extension. Cost of recent update and extensions
was £2.7M in 2013
Motor Retail Projects• VW Telford
– Conversion of an existing factory unit into a new VW dealership– Completed in 2012 at a cost of £3.5M
Motor Retail Projects• Audi Tunbridge Wells
– New Audi Terminal dealership comprising new build showroom attached to conversion of an existing Mail depot into a workshop and internal car deck
– Completed in 2014 at a cost of £3.5M
Motor Retail Projects• Audi Poole
– Construction of a new Audi Terminal on a brownfield site together with drive-thru, workshop, valet and smart repair and rooftop parking ( On site at present, due for completion June 2016)
Motor Retail Projects• Honda, Durham
– The construction of a new Honda dealership at Pity Me, Durham. Constructed in 2003-2004 for £650,000
