The balance of proper illumination levels and energy usage is always a consideration when lighting the

classroom. New research shows that not only are illumination levels important, but varying illumination

levels and color temperature of light - depending on the task or time of day - improves student

performance.

C3 Lighting’s Innovative Classroom Lighting SolutionTM provides variable illumination levels and color

temperatures. Energy consumption is extremely low, and our daylight-harvesting sensor saves even

more energy and maintains consistent, controlled light levels throughout the day.

Remote central battery systems provide emergency egress illumination.

Illumination is provided by the Classroom Diffused and Acoustic Luminaires that work in combination

with RPG Diffusor Systems, Inc. “Sound Diffusion Acoustic System”.

Greatly increased speech intelligibility is achieved when its signal to noise ratio is high. Increasing the

signal is now possible by applying Acoustic Diffused Luminaires in a specific area of the ceiling, to

provide early sound reflection, thereby increasing the level of speech. The reverberation time can also

be reduced by using acoustical ceiling tile around the perimeter of the room.

C 3 R E M O T E P O W E R

The Helius Power Distribution Module will

output 6, 12, 18 or 24 Class 2, 24VDC circuits

depending on the wattage and the design of

the system. The outputs connect directly to

the LED fixtures. Class 2 power can be run

with two conductor cable and no metal

conduit for most commercial installations.

The Pyxis dimming module or DMX controller

connects to the Power Distribution Module via Cat

5e cable. Occupancy and Daylight Harvesting

sensors can be connected directly to the wall

controls. No additional wiring between the Helius

and the luminaire is required for dimming. Dimming

from 100% to 0% can be achieved.

C3's Luminess Suspended Classroom Fixture offers features

never before found in the classroom. Available in down-lighting

only or a combination of down-lighting and up-lighting,

providing an unlimited number of illumination patterns. Both

directions of illumination can be independently dimmed. This

fixture is also available with C3’s Advanced Lighting Presets that

have been shown to improve student performance.

As with all C3 illuminators, Remote Power and Control is a standard feature, removing drivers from the fixture and allowing Class 2

wiring that does not require metal conduit. This technology eliminates the possibility of fire or electrocution related to the lighting

system. Powerful ION™ Light Engines provide high levels of illumination along with color control. The fixture can be suspended with

cables or rods providing an attractive and contemporary look. White powder coat is the standard finish and for an additional charge

custom colors may be specified.
