Volatile fatty acid analysis by gas chromatography. . . The GOW-MAC Instrument Co. offers both instrument system and program for the determination of volatile fatty acids found in certain food products. These acids cause rancidity and odor. With a simple sampling procedure levels of thes acids down to less than 1% can be determined by gas chromatography. The GOW-MAC sys- tem makes use of a thermal conductivity detector in a Gas Chro- matograph, Model 69-550. A strip chart recorder, 70-700, is included with the system.
