introAccording to the EPA*, Puerto Rico’s per capita contribution to global warming is 230% larger than the world average and 333% larger than the Latin America and Caribbean average, 40% of this consumption comes from buildings. During the 1990’s the island consumed 33 million barrels of fossil fuels to satisfy its energy demands. Likewise, our domestic cost of electricity is 3 times higher than the national US average.

Most of the existing lighting fixtures on the island are inef-ficient and expensive in terms of consumption and mainte-nance. We use the best design options and the latest lighting technology to make the Lumen2 and Eco-luz series a sen-sible, eco-friendly and accessible option.

The design of Lumen 2 aims to create a solar lamp that does not look like a solar lamp, so both the solar panel and the power pack (which includes batteries and controller) are not readily visible, as is in many other models available in the market. More importantly, Lumen 2 has two high input LED lamps, it is vandal proof, night sky friendly and low maintenance, which makes it the most efficient and cost effective lamp in the market.

The design of Eco-Luz 2 aims to create a well designed low mainte-nance, energy efficient electric lamp (with savings up to 85%), in a competitive price. The emphasis on Eco-luz2, is to reduce energy con-sumption while making open spaces safer. The twin-light design allows for continuous low level lighting for visibility from one light and the se-curity feature of high output lighting by motion detection to activate the second light.
