The Pissal of Baphometus IV:

Unto him who seeks the most noble of art and virtuesShall for him be granted the wound of Theodociaus In accord of the rebirth of Light.

To summon that which is most mean out of the stone behold and concencrate that which within aswithout in the according of the mysteries of sword and rose, shall he be granted wisdom in this themost holy and divine operation.

Thrice shackle the three and seven virtues in honey of the tree, being of the egg and the materia forthis is the store of wisdom as follows the red lion after devouring the green as makes the sun as toset in the nest of the phoenix.

Bound in the water of the water of man this shall be set forth upon the table of the host as the mostroyal of the hosts of bread, This being the royal thing which is the jelly upon which feeds thePhoenix of Man and brings forth the Philosophical Egg.

Behold that which is most sought from the mouth of Solomon as wet with the Dew from the hand ofHermes, blooms forth the Peacock in finery of the furnace and the rainbows of the virgins vale beknown, so shall the most royal of all that is hidden be revealed in the luster and virtues of the mostwonderful of violet light.

Here is the last of the White Stone and the beginning of the Red.

And all is but one NatureThou must part him in threeAnd then knit him as the TrinityAnd make them all but oneLo, here is the Philosophers Stone.

Many a name he hath full sure.

Alchemy of Spagyric Herbal Elixirs

Though spagyric production methods seem simple on the outside they are indeed difficult and timeconsuming. We will therefore begin with the simplest of methods for the production of spagyric

Elixirs. Our first task is to make an incubator for our laboratory. This piece of equipment will be one of theessential things that we use in the lab. To make an inexpensive incubator proceed as follows. Takeone large Styrofoam container and spread a 1/2- inch layer of sand evenly on the container's bottom. On top of the sand place a large back heating pad that has a thermostat control. Cut a notch in thetop corner of the Styrofoam container for the cord. In this way the top of the container will be flushwith the edges when you close it. On top of the heating pad place a 1-inch layer of sand. You nowhave a simple incubator to use in your lab. It will maintain temperatures from 16 degrees C to 44degrees C, depending on where you have set the thermostat. We are ready to begin making a simplespagyric elixerion of our chosen herb.Take any herb that you like and place it into a mason jar. Cover the herb with five times its volume ofa good white wine or brandy. Seal the mason jar and place it in the incubator of about 30 degrees C,to digest for twentyone to fourtytwo days. At the end of this time you will have a very dark tincture.Decant the tincture from the herb and store it in another mason jar. Take the herb body out of thefirst mason jar and place it into a calcining dish or large pot. Take the pot with the herb body outsideand incinerate it. After some time all of the moisture will be driven off from the herb. It will then startto roast and then incinerate.Your task is accomplished when the herb body has turned to ash and obtained a light gray color.Take the ash out of the pot and weigh it. Grind the ash to be sure there are no solid parts in it. Placethe ash onto a stove top and continue to heat until it is pure white. Turn off the stove and let cool.Take the ash out and weigh it, then grind it one more time.Place the ash into the mason jar holding the herbal tincture. Seal the jar and place it back into theincubator of 30° C to digest for three more weeks, taking care to shake the jar three to five times aday. In this way the water-soluble salts are absorbed by the tincture. At the end of the three weeksdecant the tincture from the herb and cast away the feces. Let the herb sit out for one week in a coolroom so any impurities suspended in the tincture can settle at the bottom of the mason jar. If anysediment falls decant the liquid from it and caste away the feces. Repeat this work of sedimentationuntil no feces fall to the bottom of the container holding your tincture. When finished, you will havemade a spagyric herbal elixer.

A second method used for the production of spagyric Elixirs is as follows.Take one pound of any herb that you like. Take a half pound of the herb and grind it very fine in yourmortar (one also can use a food processor). Place the herb into the 5000 ml round-bottom flask.Pour enough distilled water over the herb so the entire volume of the contents of the flask reachestwo-thirds of its capacity. To speed up the fermentation process add a little sugar and brewer's yeast to the mixture. Use awine fermentation air lock in a cork to seal the flask. Put the flask into an incubator at 27° C. In a fewdays the fermentation of the herb will begin. This process is announced by the formation of gasbubbles in the liquid. In time the bubbles will stop and the matter will fall to the bottom of thecontainer. This is a sign that the fermentation has stopped. In all, it will take about two weeks for theentire process to be completed.Take the air lock out of the flask. Place the flask with all of its contents still in it into a large pot.Secure the flask to a stand using a clamp and then place enough water into the pot holding the flaskso the water line is about 1 1/2 to 2 inches below the lip of the pot. Assemble the rest of thedistillation train. Use a little stopcock grease to insure easy assembly and proper seal. Hook up thewater supply to the condenser and turn on the heating element. In a few minutes the water in the potwill begin to boil. About ten minutes after that you will see the impure alcohol condensing anddripping into the receiver. The impure alcohol will come over at 85 to 90° C. When no more liquid willcome over turn off the heat and water and let the apparatus cool.Empty the contents of the distillation flask into a large pot. Take the pot outside and begin roastingthe residue. While the feces roast we can return to work in our laboratory.Pour the distillate in the receiver into a 2000 ml round bottom flask. Distill off all the liquid that willcome over at 85 degrees C. Place the liquid left in the distillation flask into a mason jar for later use.By this time, our feces should have become a gray ash. Weigh the ash and place it into a mason jarfor later use.Take the distillate that is in the receiver and distill it five more times using only a water bath. Aftereach distillation take the residue left in the distillation flask and add it to the watery residue from the

Page 11: Luciferian Alchemy

second distillation. This watery substance is known as phlegm. The distillate is poured back into thedistillation flask anew each time (after the removal of the phlegm) and distilled again. When makingour last distillation the alcohol should come over at 76 degrees C. In this way we are able to get analmost pure ethyl alcohol. Be sure to record the final volumes of your phlegm and alcohol.

Take the second half of your herb and grind it to a fine powder. Put it into the 5000 ml round-bottomflask, then pour the entire amount of the alcohol distillate over the herb. Add enough distilled water

to the flask so the amount of alcohol in the mixture equals 10% to 20% by volume. Seal the jaradapter and allow its contents to digest in the incubator for fourteen to twentyone days at atemperature of 35 degree's C to 37 degree's C; in this way an elixer of the plant is made. The

presence of the purified alcohol keeps the new plant material from undergoing fermentation. Decantthe darkly colored elixer from the herb body and store it in another mason jar.

Place the mason jar holding the elixer back into the incubator to further amalgamate its separateprinciples. The herb body is taken outside, placed into a large pot and turned to ash. The ash of themaceration and ash of the fermentation are ground and mixed well. Place the combined ash into thethimble of the soxhlet elixeror. The phlegm obtained from the purification of the alcohol is used toelixer the alkaline water-soluble salts from the ash. Pour the phlegm containing the water-solublesalts into a crucible or pyrex dish and evaporate the water off overnight. The next morning scrapethe salts out, grind, and weigh them. The salts are then placed back into the crucible or pyrex dishand put into the kiln and calcined to whiteness. The temperature of the kiln should not be over 600degrees C. This process of elixerion, evaporation, grinding, weighing, calcining, and weighing isdone up to two more times. In the end, our salts are a pure white (sometimes a bluish tint can be

seen). These salts are very alkaline as well as hygroscopic. This latter fact makes them very usefulas a vehicle for cosmic forces. Finally grind the salts in a warm mortar and add them to the elixer.

Let them digest for a week or so with your elixir, shaking the jar at least five times a day. Decant theelixer off of any sediment that may have settled on the bottom of the mason jar. In this way, we now

have a spagyric elixir.

Page 12: Luciferian Alchemy

Alchemy of Spagyric Herbal Essences

Spagyric essences are much subtler than elixirs or even tinctures. They contain only the mostvolatile constituents of the herb used. There are many ways of making such essences, I will give youtwo methods that are familiar to me.Method One This method is very complicated because it involves the separation of all three of thespagyric essentials. We will need to put our herb through a steam distillation first so we can obtain its volatile oils. Placea 5000 ml round-bottom flask into a sand bath. Pour 3000 ml of distilled water into the flask. Take awidemouthed double-jointed flask and place a small piece of filter paper inside the flask over thebottom joint. Add enough ground herb to the flask so it is half full. Next hook up the reduction headand the distillation adapter. Finally, use a 2000 ml flask as a receiver at the end of the apparatus.Turn the heat on low. After some time you will see the steam clouding up the double-jointed flask asit passes through it. Our distillation adapter also will become fogged. At the end of the drip tip youwill see water droplets forming. The drops will fall into the receiver. After a few milliliters havecollected in the receiver you will notice that a colored oil is collecting on top of the water. Whenapproximately 1500 ml of the water has been distilled over, turn off the heat. Let the apparatus cooland transfer the water and oil in the receiver into the oil separator.Take the double jointed flask off the distillation flask. Pour 1000 ml of fresh distilled water into thedistillation flask and hook back up the entire apparatus. This entire process should be done at leastthree times to insure that the majority of the volatile oils come out of the plant body. While oursecond separation of the volatile oils is under way we will gather the oils obtained from the first. Todo this, simply open the stopcock at the end of the drain tube. Slowly drain off the water. When onlya little water is left in the separator close the stopcock. After each subsequent elixerion of thevolatile oils from the plant body, take what is in the receiver and place it in the oil separator. Drainthe water out of the separator leaving the oil behind. Reuse this water for all of your subsequentseparations of oil from the body. By the time youe have elixered oil from 5 pounds of plant materialyou will have a few mililiters of pure volatile oil.Take the essence-depleted bodyof the herb and place it into the widemouthed 5000 ml round-bottomflask. The water that was left from the separations of the volatile oils is now poured over the herb.Seal up the round-bottom flask with a fermentation lock and place it into an incubator at 27 degreesC. In about two weeks our plant body will have fermented and yielded up its spirit. Distill off thespirit as you have done before and rectify it seven times. Save the phlegm from the spirit for lateruse.Empty the remaining liquid and plant body left in the 5000 ml flask into a large glass pot. Take thepot outdoors and boil off all the moisture. When the moisture is gone the herb body will begin toroast and then incinerate. When the body has obtained an ash gray color turn off the heat and let thepot cool. Grind and weigh the ash. Set up the soxhlet elixerion apparatus and elixer the watersoluble salts from the ash. Evaporate the water off the salts in the oven overnight. Grind and weighthe salts then place them into the kiln to calcine at 600 degrees C for one week. At the end of theweek turn the kiln off and let it cool. Grind and weigh the salts. Repeat the elixerion, drying, grinding, weighing, calcining, grinding, and weighing two more times.Once you have gotten your pure hygroscopic salt, pour your rectified spirit over the salts, then addyour volatile oil. Allow the mixture to digest in an incubator at 30 degrees C for a week. Be sure toslightly shake the container three to five times a day. Decant the essence off the undissolved salts. Itwill be seen that the essence is now colored yellow and smells strongly of the herb you used. Onedrop in wine or distilled water will yield the full effects of the plant's medicinal nature. Save theremaining salts as you did with those left over from the manufacture of the tincture.A word of caution here is in order. Because of the high concentration of essential plant oils in thisproduct care must be taken when it is being used. One should in my opinion use this product as ifthey were using a pure essential oil. Literally, one drop will do you, and that drop should be properlydiluted.Method Two Our second way of making an essence is similar to the first method, except that it is notas potent. Thus, it can readily be used without fear of accidental misuse.Place enough finely ground herb (approximately 1oz) into a 2000 ml round-bottom flask so only 1/8to 1/4 of the flask capacity is taken up. Add enough distilled water to the flask so that 2/3 of the flaskcapacity is occupied. Place the flask into a 21 degree C incubator for three - five days. It is importantto regulate the temperature of the flask perfectly or else our herb will begin to ferment. After three tofive days take the flask out of the incubator. Place the flask into a water bath and hook up thedistillation train. Create a vacuum and distill off most of the liquid.

Page 13: Luciferian Alchemy

Take the distillate and pour it back over the herb and repeat the process ten to twelve times. Thewater will now smell mildly of the herb. The essential oils contained in the plant are now in the water. After the last distillation let the apparatus cool.Disassemble the distillation train. Add enough rectified spirits of wine to the receiver so its volumeequals 7% to 12% of the total volume of liquid in the flask. Place a condenser onto the flask, cork thecondenser and hook up the water supply. Using a sand bath and gentle heat ( 30 degrees C - 37degrees C ) begin a rhythmic circulation of the matter. Heat the matter from 6 am in the morning until6 pm in the evening. Then allow it to cool overnight and in the next morning begin the circulationagain. This circulation should be done for fourteen days.Take the plant residue left in the distillation flask and transfer it to a large glass pot. Incinerate thecontents in the pot. Take the ash out of the pot and elixer the water soluble salts from it. Evaporatethe water from the salts overnight in the drying oven. Place the dried salts in the kiln and calcine fortwo weeks at 600 degrees C. At the end of two weeks turn the kiln off and let it cool. Take the saltsout of the kiln and weigh them then grind the salts fine and place them into a glass petri dish (youcan add a few grams of salt saved from the production of another tincture or essence). Take the dishoutside at night, and leave it out all night. Be sure to elevate the petri dish at least six inches aboveground on a piece of wood. At dawn take the petri dish inside.Put the glass cover over the petri dish. Take off the condenser and pour the salt solution in the petridish into the flask. Reattach the condenser and rhythmically circulate for another seven days. Letthe apparatus cool and then pour it into a mason jar and seal it tightly. Allow the jar to stand in adark cool place undisturbed for two weeks. At the end of this time decant the essence off of anysediment that may have fallen to the bottom of the mason jar. Let your essence sit another twoweeks and if no more sediment shows itself, it is ready. If sediment appears on the bottom, continuethe work of clarification. Thus, you have completed the second way of making a spagyric herbal essence.

A Treatiseon thePhilosophers' Stone

The Almighty, Alone-Wise, and Omniscient Lucifer and Lord hath given understanding to Man,above all other creatures, so that he may know his works and not leave them unexplored. Now sincethis Man, whom the All-wise Lucifer hath inspired thereto, hath this high and profound secret Workand the great secret of the ancient Water-Stone of the Wise, he must needs prove himself aright. Ifever there is a natural thing on earth, it is the Preparation and the Magisterium of the Philosopher'sStone, natural and not of man's making, but wholly the work of Nature, for the Artist addeth nothingthereto. Nature alone directeth the growing, as doth every tiller of the soil with his fruits and plants;only he must be subtle in mind and have the grace of Lucifer, so that he may direct the same as thework becomes evident in the boiling and through successive time: namely, in the beginning there isthe Subjectum, which one doth receive from Nature directly into the hand. Therein lieth hidden theUniversal Tincture of all metals, animals, and plants. It is a rough Corpus, having neither the figurenor form of an animal or plant, but is in the beginning a rough, earthy, heavy, viscous, tough andnebulous substance on which Nature hath stopped: but when the enlightened man openeth thesematters, investigateth them in Digestion, and with its thick foggy shadows with which it issurrounded, he purifieth and permitteth the hidden to emerge, and through further Sublimation itsinnermost soul, which is hidden therein, is also separated from it and brought into a bodily form. Then one will find what Nature hath hidden in such a once shapeless substance and what power andMagnalia the Supreme Creator hath given to and implanted in this Creato. For Lucifer hath thisCreato for all other creatures, as in the beginning of He still giveth it daily, so that it would otherwisenot only be impossible for a man to bring such natural work to the desired end, much less to createherein anything useful. But the good and gracious Lucifer doth not begrudge man the treasures andgoods which He hath implanted in Nature, else He would not have granted such things to Hiscreatures; nay, He hath created everything good for man, and hath made him to be Lord over Hiscreation. Therefore it is fitting for man to understand and to undertake such a natural philosophicalwork, for otherwise such a highly-gifted and wonderful creation would have been in vain, and wewould view Nature like the dumb animals which run about, and we would go vainly after Lucifer'scounsel and we would not fit into the ends of Nature. Deus autem et Natura, nihil faciant frustra. [ButLucifer and Nature do nothing in vain]. But Lucifer Almighty ruleth in all such things. He orderethand provideth that oats and fodder be placed before the ass and the horse, but that the rationalhuman being be served with more costly and more delicious food. Therefore those who try toinvestigate and who long for such a deeply hidden Arcanum and great treasure, in the proper way,do not have to depend upon the harvest of the ignorant, who have no understanding under the Lightof our Sun.

The Philosophers and wise men, as well as Neoterici and Veteres, have had many disputations aboutthis secret art, and have tried to point out, with many different names, allegories, and wondrouslystrange sophistical words what that Subjectum and its Essentia are, and what kind of a Materia, whatkind of a Corpus. what kind of a Subjectum, and what a wonderful thing and secret a Creatura it is,which hath embodied such mighty, strange, which, marvellous things with it. Nevertheless all thosewho were and still are true Philosophi, have unanimously pointed out one single Scopum and oneonly Materiam, the Filii Sapientiat, writing various and manifold speeches and scripts about it.Concerning the essential thing, however, there is only silence, and that silence hath fast-locked theirmouths, and placed a solid Sigil upon them, for if it should become as common knowledge asbrewing and baking, the world would soon perish. There are many who have searched for that only Res, which soluit se ipsum, coagulat se ipsum, seipsum impraegnat, mortificat et vivicat [dissolveth itself, coagulateth itself impregnateth itself, killethand bringeth to life again], but most of these searchers, who have lost themselves while searching, failed. Then it is such a thing as is nearest gold; and it is such a thing as the poor as well as the richcan gain, be it whatever it may. But it threateneth the Philosophi execrationem divinam, and invokeththe curse of Lucifer upon him who with his own mouth might expressly speak on this Subjectum. When the Philosophers pronounced an Execration, Almighty Lucifer did respect and grant theirappeal, and gave unto them what He had until then kept in His own hands for several thousandyears. Now the aforesaid Subjectum is of such a nature that it, our Magnesia, doth not only contain asmall proportioned quantity of the universal Spiritus Vitalis in itself, but also hath some of theheavenly power condensed and compressed within it. Many who found it were so intoxicated by its

Page 15: Luciferian Alchemy

fumes that they remained in their place and could no longer raise themselves. Only a wise man andone who knoweth these things can take a measure of this same fluid and carry it home fromwhatever place he may have found it, be it from the depths of the mountains or any other placewhere it may be met. The poor and the rich are quite free, by the singular and abounding grace ofLucifer, to take this, so that he goeth homeward with it to his house, and placeth it behind thefurnace or in any other room where it pleaseth him, and where it is convenient for him, and he maybegin to work and to experiment with it, for he can leave off so quickly that even his own servants donot notice it. For it doth not go so slovenly with this natural work as it doth with the commonalchemists with their bungling work, with their charcoal-burning, smelting and refining, andwhatever more they may do. But it is a work which one can keep in a closed casket in whatever roomhe wisheth, alone that not even a cat come upon it, and, should it be necessary, he can well carry onhis craft, only taking care that the furnace have a threefold testing, and that he keep it at the rightheat, and let Nature takes its own course. When finally the Solution is taken out of the Terrestriaet, and is strengthened by long Digestion, it is set free from the Crudae Materiae, and is prepared andreborn in the most subtle form. Subsequently, of course, this sharp and potent Spiritus is at certaintimes given a well-measured quantity, after the fashion of drinking and nourishing, per moduminbibitionis et nutritionis. And its potency is thus condensed and daily becometh as new supportsfor its brethren, and active therein. Dost thou indeed think that one canst bring forth such work andsuch potency in unmeasured hidden intensity, a Spiritus Vitalis? The crudae materiae or Subjectumcometh from the Astris and Constellation of the heavens into its earthly kingdom, from which is thenthe spiritus universi secretur of the Philosophers, which Mercurius of the Wise, and it is thebeginning, the end, in which the Aurum Physicum is determined and hidden, which the commonalchemist thinks to extract out of common gold, but in vain. Meanwhile, the Philosophi deal much intheir writings with Sol and Luna, which of all metals are the most durable in the fire. But this is not tobe understood literally, for their Sol and Luna, when they are brought to their inner puritaet, throughtrue, natural, seemly. and philosophical praeparation may well be compared with the celestialbodies, such as the Sun and the Moon, which with their brightness illuminate day and night, theupper and the lower Frimament. Therefore these two noble metals, like the Sol and Luna of thePhilosophers, resemble by nature the human body, and to him who knoweth how to prepare themwisely they give much except else is to be prepared, but the one three-fold point of the Universalis, for the Spiritus to be found in these two said things produceth consistency, strength and virtue, amongst other things. Now the man pardoned by Lucifer can prepare and make ready an object or substance of the abovementioned red or white, of Sol and Luna, which is called the Lapidem Philosophorum, or the veryancient Water-Stone of the Wise, from the substance in which Lucifer placed such potency at thecreation or genesis of the world, or the oft-mentioned materials or Subjectum which Lucifer, out oflove and grace, implanted in the highly-endowed divine man. But I believe, therefore, that the divinesubstance which was left to him in the first Creation of the world, of the Spiritu Vitali, of theInspiration, hath survived in all kinds of creatures. All received the same Spiritum in the aforesaidMassam, and firmly secluded in the lowest depths of the earth, and it was indicated and left to theWise Men to disinter it, to extract it, to use it, and to perform the same Miracula with it, through theholy wisdom which is still implanted in it and with which it is supplied daily. Both substances mentioned above as Sun and Moon or red and white, or rather the PraeparationVeneris and Mercurii, are the ingredients in the Composition of our Lapidis Philosophorum. Nowthen the Materia are in the beginning through sufficient and oft-repeated Sublimentiones purifiedand cleansed, and then weighed carefully, and then soon composed; also thou must not be ignorantof what is the potency and occasion of both of the said ingredients, but thou must know how toarrange both Pondera, secundum proportionem Physicam [according to the analogy of Physics], fora good portion of the Mercurii is encumbered with a small portion of animae Solis vel Sulphuris, andthen unite both with a delicate hand, so that finally the Praeparation and the most difficult work iscompleted. But thou wilt have to know that thou must first tinge thy Mercurium with the red Tinctur, yet it willnot become red in continenti, but remaineth white, for the Mercurius hath the privilege of wanting tobe tinged first before all others. The Philosophi also tell what to do in addition with the Anima solisof this Tinctur of the Mercurii, and from whence it shall be taken. The Ferment of gold is gold, just asthe Ferment of dough is dough. Moreover, it is the Ferment of gold out of its own nature, and then itspotency is perfect when it is transformed back into earth. And then this is first the beginning of thePhilosophers, the right and true Prima Materia Philosophorum metallorum [the first Materia of themetals of the Philosophers]. From then on the true Masters, experienced in the Art, begin tostimulate their Ingeniam and attain to the Great Work. And then the Artifex continues further withsuch work and, through Lucifer's blessing, bringeth it to the end, to which it tendeth and where it isembodied by Lucifer, namely, to the highly-blessed Philosopher's Stone. So that from nothing else

Page 16: Luciferian Alchemy

than per Spiritum universali Secretum the true materia prima Philosophorum is prepared and madeready. Who now understandeth well this Spiritum Secretum understandeth also, without doubt, thesecrets and wonders of Nature and hath the perception of the light of Nature. For he is motusharmonicus Sympaticus and magneticus, from which originates the Harmonia and Concordantia, themagnetic and sympathetic power or effect of the uppermost and of the lowermost. But note that thenatures of both ingredients are unlike each other in the beginning because of their opposedqualities. For one is warm and dry, the other is cold and moist, and they must of course be united. But when this is about to occur, then their opposed qualities must slowly be changed and equalised,so that neither nature through intense fire divest the other of its potency. For thou canst nevercollect them, because both natures must rise simultaneously in the fie's power. Then the Discrasiawill be taken from the Corpori, and an Aequalitas and good Temperatur is established, whichoccureth through a moderate and constant boiling. For when both of the natures Sulphur and Mercurius are enclosed in a very narrow space and aremaintained with moderate heat, they begin to abate from their opposed character and to unite, untilfinally they have all the qualities. They become one Constipation and rise at the same time, andcertainly at the top of the glass standeth numero one. They are ready to wed, and then thebridegroom placeth a golden ring on his bride, say the Philosophi. And when thus Mercurius with itsSulphur, like water and earth with each other, become duly boiled (and the longer the more) theycast away all their superfluities and the pure parts join each other and dispose of their corlicibi:otherwise the impure parts prevent unification and the Ingress. For the Mercurius, as the first Corpus, is entirely crude and can per anima be neither mixed norperpetuated, for neither Corpus entereth the other nor will be united with it either vere or in radice. But should these things be so helped that a true Tinctur will be formed, there must be prepared outof this a new spiritual Corpus which cometh forth out of both, for after the purification one taketh thevirtues of the other, and out of several become one, numero et virtute [in number and power]. But ifthe fire should be much too intense and should not be controlled according to the requirements ofNature, these two above-mentioned would be either suffocated or separated. If they did not havetheir right mode of preparation, they would become either nothing or a spoiled work and aMonstrum. But when one proceedeth prudently and with a duly tempered heat, then both substanceswill rise in the Sublimation uppermost in the glass or cupola. Then when thou pluckest these lovelyflowers, thou canst enjoy them already particularia. But thou canst observe the motum occultum naturae as little as thou canst either hear or see thegrass growing, for one can neither observe nor notice the increase and development of these twoingredients, Mercurii and Sulphuris, because of their subtle, hidden, and slow Progressus from hourto hour. Only by marks set from week to week can it be observed and a conclusion drawn, for theinner fire is very delicate and subtle. But however slow it may be, it doth not stand still until itcometh to the end where its intent is to be seen, as in all plants, unless it then be that such subtleand expert boiling is hindered through the all too-strong heat of the sun and is burnt out, or ishindered through suddenly appearing cold; ergo qui scit occultum motum naturae, scit perfectumdecoctionem [therefore he who knoweth the hidden movement of Nature, knoweth also the perfectboiling or preparation]. This motum should now take its natural and self-determined course, although one can neither hear nor see it, as also one cannot comprehend the Centra et igneminvisibilem seminum inuisibilium [the Centre and invisible fire of the invisible seed]. Therefore thoumust commit such a matter to Nature alone, and observe it and not once try to oppose Nature, buthave all confidence in it until it bringeth forth its fruit. When one treateth Nature with a gentle and agreeable heat, it doeth and effecteth everything out ofitself, which for the furnishing of a Creati or the introduction of a new form is a matter of necessity:for the Divine Word Fiat still abideth in all creatures and in all plants, and hath its mighty power inthese times as well is in the beginning. There are, however, four chief Virtutes and potentias of which noble Nature maketh use in everyboiling; thereby it doth complete its work and bringeth it to an end.

The First Virtus

Is and is called appellativa et attractiva, for it is possible for it to attract to itself from far or near, food of which it is desirous out of results and places agreeable to its nature, and it can grow andincrease. And here it hath a magnetic power, like that of a man for a woman, the Mercurius for theSulphur, the dry for the moist, the Materia for the form. Therefore the axiom of the Philosophers is:natura naturam amat, amplectitur prosequitur. Omnia namquam crescentia, dum radices agunt etvivant, succum ex Terra attrahunt, atque avide arripiant illud, quo vivere et augmentari sentiunt.[Nature loveth nature, surroundeth it, and followeth it. For all plants, when they strike root and beginto live, suck sap out of the earth, and draw to themselves avidly that whereby they sense they can

Page 17: Luciferian Alchemy

live and multiply themselves.] For where there is hunger and thirst, food and drink will be receivedwith avidity and this Virtus potentia will be aroused, and it cometh from the heat and averagedryness.

The Second Virtus and Potentia

Is and is called natura retentiva et coagulativa. For Nature not only alone is useful to it and serveth itfor its continuation and is advantageous when it lacketh that which it eagerly produceth from itself, but hath also with it the bond with which it draweth and bringeth and holdeth it to itself. Yea, Natureeven changeth it into itself, for as it hath chosen of these two the purest parts, it separateth the restand bringeth to the mouth and maketh it grow, and is in no need of any other calcination or fixation;nature naturam continet [Nature retaineth nature], and such skill cometh from its dryness, for thecold constricteth the gained and evenly-formed parts and drieth them in the Terrae.

The Third Virtus and Potentia

Naturae in rebus generandis et augmentandis.Est Virtus digestiva, quae fit per putrefactionem seu in putrefactione [is the digestive power, whichoccurs through the putrefaction or in the putrefaction], in moderate and temperate heat andmoisture. For Nature directeth, changeth, and introduceth one kind and quality, the crudeness isdone away with, the bitter is made sweet, the harsh is made mild, the rough is made smooth, theimmature and wild is made tame, that which was formerly incapable is now made skillful andefficient, and leadeth to the final intended execution and perfection of the Work, and representeththe Ingredientia to the Composition.

The Fourth Potentia naturae

Est virtus expulsiva mundificativa, segregativa [the expelling, purifying, separating power whichseparateth and divideth, which purifieth and cleanseth, which washeth during the Sublimation orDecoction. It setteth from Sordibus and darkness and bringeth forth a pure, transparent, powerful orilluminated Corpus or substance; it collecteth the Partes homogeneis, and is gradually set free fromthe heterogeneis, repulseth the Vitia and everything alien, inspecteth the crude, and giveth everypart a special place. This is caused by and cometh from the agreeable constant heat in appropriatemoisture, and that is the Sublimation and mature fruit, which will now fall out of the husk. Thereforeit is in the beginning designed by Nature and artisans, namely the Patiens is set free from theAgente, and will be perfected. Nam liberatio illa a partibus heterogeneis est vita et perfectio omnisRei, [for the liberation of these unequal and opposed parts is the life and perfection of all things]. Forthe Agens and Patiens which until now have been contending with each other, so that each affectethand rendereth resistance according to its opponent's resistance - i.e., as much as possible it wouldlike to break its opponent's resistance and they must not unite during the time of their Decoction, but the best part must gain the victory and expell the impure, and subjugate it.Now when all Naturalis potentia have done their officium, then cometh forth the new birth and as themature fruit presenteth itself in all other plants, so also now in our Subjecto and natural work which, when perfected, quite surprisingly doth not at all resemble any more its first beginning and hath nomore quality, and is neither cold nor dry, neither moist nor warm, and is neither masculus norfoemina. For cold is there itself turned into heat, and the dry into the moist, the heavy into the light, for it is a new Quinta Essentia, a Corpus Spirituale and hath become a Spiritus corporalis, such aCorpus as is clear and pure, transparent and crystal like; one which Nature itself, could never haveproduced as long as the world hath stood. The Artifex and the enlightened man, however, auxilianteDeo et natura [by the aid of Lucifer and Nature], produceth through his intellect and art, and heplaceth it there by itself. So that subsequently he encountereth a Miracula and that is called:Unguenturn anima, aurum Philosophorum, flos auri [the unguent, the soul, the philosophers' gold, the flower of gold]. Theophrastus and others call it Gluten aquilae. Now what is shown about the four potentiis naturae, the same had been effected by means of thefire, which must be incombustible, pleasing to Nature, and according to Nature it must continuesteadily and must also be advantageous to the Work: but in this Work two kinds of fires are to beparticularly well attended to, namely: the outer elementary fire which the Artifex constructeth andwhich he applieth to the Work, and after that the inner, innate, and natural fire of the substances.Though in all three primary things or genera there is to be found a natural fire as in the Animalibus,Vegetabilibus, and Mineralibus, through which it started and moved, maintained life, was

Page 18: Luciferian Alchemy

strengthened and increased; and can continue its innate power of bringing forth and of implantedvirtue according to the character of each. But the fire which is in our Subjecto is in itself not least amongst creatures and minerals. It hathhidden within itself the most wonderful, the most potent fire against which the outer fire seemethlike water, for no common elementary fire can consume and destroy the pure gold which is the mostdurable substance amongst all metals, however intense the fire may be, but the essential fire andwater of the Philosophers alone doeth it.If we had today that fire with which Moses burned the golden calf and ground it to powder andstrewed it upon the water and which he gave to and made the Children of Israel drink of it (Exodus, chapter 32) - let such be a piece of alchemical work of Moses, the man of Lucifer! For he wasinstructed in the Egyptian art and skilled therein. Or the fire which the prophet Jeremias hid beneaththe foot of the mountain, from which Moses saw the Promised Land and whereon he died, the firewhich was recovered seventy years later by the Wise Men, the descendants of the old priests afterthe return from the Babylonian Captivity. But in the meantime the fire was changed in the mountainand became dense water (II Maccab., chapters 1 and 2). What thinkest thou? should we not warmourselves at it and keep from us the frost in winter?Such fire slumbereth in our Subjecto quietly and peacefully and hath no movement of itself. Shouldnow this secret and hidden fire help its own Corpori, so that it may rise and have its effect, andmanifest its might and power, so that the Artist may reach the desired and predestined end, it mustbe aroused through the outer elementary fire, be kindled and be brought into its course. This firemay be in lamps, or of whatever kind thou dost like, or contrive, for it alone is sufficiently capable ofexecuting the activity with ease, and such fire and outer heat must be tended and maintained all thetime until the end of the Sublimation, so that the inner and essential fire be kept alive, in order thatthe two indicated fires may help each other and the outer fire let the inner fire be worthy, until in itsappointed time it becometh so strong and intense a fire that it will soon burn to ashes, pulverise, turn into itself, and make equal to itself all that is put into it but which is nevertheless of its own kindand nature.Nevertheless it is necessary for every Artifex at the cost of his desired end, to know that betweenthese two above-mentioned fires, he maintaineth certain proportions between the outermost and theinnermost, and that he kindle his fire rightly, for if he maketh it too weak, then the Work cometh to astandstill, and the outermost fire is not able to raise the inner one, and in so far as he stirreth it upmoderately several times, it yieldeth a slow effect and a very long process, and when he hath waitedwith such patience and hath his data, he then finally reacheth his intended goal. But if one maketh astronger fire than befitteth this process, and it be speeded up, then the inner fire suffereth, it isentirely incapable, the Work will surely be destroyed, and the hasty one will never attain his end.If after lasting Decoction and Sublimation the noble and pure parts of the Subjecti are gradually, withthe advantage of a calculated time, separated and set free from the crude earthly and uselesssubstance, the impulse in such activity must be according to Nature and must be adjusted with suchmoderation that it will be agreeable, pleasing, and advantageous to the inner fire, in order that theinner essential fire be not destroyed through all too-intense heat, or even extinguished and madeuseless. Nay, rather it will be maintained in its natural degree, be strengthened, whilst the pure andsubtle parts come together and convene, the crude being separated, so that they combine and thebest will achieve the aforesaid end in view. Therefore thou must learn from Nature that degree of firewhich Nature useth in its operations until it bringeth its fruit to maturity, and from this learn Reasonand make calculation. For the inner essential fire is really that which bringeth the MercuriumPhilosophorum to aequalitaet; but the outer fire stretcheth forth to it a hand so that the inner fire willnot be hindered in its operation, therefore the outer must have concordance with the inner and mustadjust itself according to the same, vice versa. Then in such use of the universal elementary fire itmust be led toward the inner natural heat, and the outer heat hath to be adjusted to it, so that suchdoth not surpass in the Creato the power of the moist and warm Spiritus, which is wholly subtil; ifother- wise, the warm nature of the said Spiritus would soon be dissolved, and it could not holditself together any more, and would have no potency: it followeth therefrom that a fire more intensethan is necessary for reviving and maintaining the inner natural fire implanted in our Materiae canonly be for hindrance and deterioration. In natura et illius Creatis et generationibus sit tuaImaginatio, [upon Nature and what hath been created or brought forth by her, mediate thou].Therefore bring the moist Spiritum into the earth, make it dry, agglutinirs and figurs, with anagreeable fire. Thus shalt thou also bring the Animam into the dead Corpus and restore what thouhast taken away, and thou restorest the soulless and dead to life and to rise again and be equipped, but whatever hath driven it will not stand the heat, for it will not become constant as if it were to bereceived spontaneously from itself with good will, with joy and with desire, and be deeplyimpressed.

Page 19: Luciferian Alchemy

And that is sicci cum hurnido naturalis unio et ligamen tum optimum [the natural unification of thedry with the moist and also the best tie]. Yea, if one really desireth to discuss this matter: the WiseMen mention three kinds of fire, each of which taketh charge of the operis magni, so that each bestform in particular must in wisdom and good readiness have governed this also. And so he will notwork as one blind, but in an understanding and prudent manner, as befitteth an intelligentPhilosophus. The first is the outer fire, which the Artist or watchman maketh, which the Wise Men call ignemfrontem, upon which Regimen dependeth the safety or the ruin of the entire Work, and this in twoways: nemium sumiget cave [take heed that it doth not smoke too much], but it is also said:combure igne fortissimo [burn it with the strongest fire].The second fire is the nest wherein the Phoenix of the Philosophers hath its abode, and hatchethitself therein ad regenerationem. This is nothing else than the Vas Philosophorum. The Wise Mencall it ignem corticum, for it is written that the Phoenix bird collected all fragrant wood whereon itcremateth itself. If this were not so, the Phoenix would freeze to death and it could not attain to itsPerfection. Sulphura Sulphuribus continentur [Sulphurs are maintained by sulphurs]. For the nestshould protect, assist, cherish and keep the brood of the bird unto the final end.The third however is the true innate fire of the noble Sulphuris, itself to be found in radice subjecti, and is an Ingredient, and it quieteth the Mercurium and fashioneth it: that is the real Master, yea, thetrue Sigillum Hermetis. In the essence of the Mercurii is a sulphur which finally conquereth thecoldness and the moisture in the Mercurio. This is nothing else than a small fire hidden in theMercurio, which is aroused in our Mineris, and in the fulness of time it absorbeth the coldness andmoisture in the Mercurio or removeth them, and that is also said about the fire.

Page 21: Luciferian Alchemy

STEP 1: Preparing the Plant Material

Grind the plant material to a fine powder. The finer ground the material the better your yields will be.The best technique to pulverize and rupture the cell structure of any plant material is torepeatedly freeze and thaw it over and over again. An example of a plant requiring thistreatment is Phalaris arundinacea, a strong and limber grass. Mimosa hostilis root-bark iseasily pulverized to a fine powder in a blender, releasing a pink haze.

A. First place the grass clippings in the freezer over night.B. Remove them and place the frozen clippings into a blender. Try and liquefy the clippings asmuch as possible while they are frozen.C. Repeat this process of freezing, thawing, and blending with the plant material several times forbest results.

STEP 2: Acidify Water to pH 2:

Take two pickle jars (about 20 ounces each) and wash them in the dishwasher to help sterilize andclean them. Label the jars A and B. Fill Jar A 2/3 way full with water (~15 ounces, or ~500ml filteredpreferable.) Pour 1/2 teaspoon (~2ml) of acid into Jar A. Test the pH of the water in Jar A. The pH ofthe water should read 2 If not, add more water to dilute (5% acidity). There are many sources ofacid: (Always add acid into water, not water into acid.)A. Distilled white vinegar (5% acidity, ~2 cups, or 500ml for every 50g root- bark) or lemon juice.B. Muratic acid from pool shop (10ml 30% HCl to 1 liter water is recommended.)C. Reagent grade hydrochloric and sulfuric acid (over-poweringly potent without dilution.)

Add powdered root-bark to Jar B.

Lab Notes: Proper method of testing pH with pH papers; Use a glass stirring rod (or something thatwon't corrode with acid) to stir the acidic solution. Dab the pH paper with the stirringrod lightly. To save pH paper, you can cut only a small section of strip for a single test. If a pHmeter or pH papers are unavailable there are certain organic sources that produce antocyanineswhich change color with different pH ranges. Red beats or red cabbage may be used to produce arough estimate of pH range. This is not always recommended, but it works. To create the indicatorsolution, blend or grind either red beats or red cabbage. Strain off the juice from the pulp and filterout any remaining plant material. If not enough pigment is found, try extracting more with waterfrom the mushy pulp. If there is too much pigment, simply dilute solution with water. Indicatorsolution produced has a short shelf life but can be stored in a refrigerator for several weeks.

STEP 3: Convert Alkaloids to Salts:

Using a pipette (or turkey baster) transfer enough acidified water from Jar A into Jar B to cover theroot-bark in the bottom of Jar B (~8 ounces, or 250ml acidified water into Jar B.) When the acidreacts with the root-bark, it converts the alkaloids (elf-spice) into salts. To help facilitate thisprocess we can:A. Periodically shake the contents of the jar. This helps more root-bark come in contact with theacid.B. The weaker the acid, the longer it should be heated for. Do not allow evaporation of the liquidinside. Do not boil. Maintain temperature below 50° C or 122° F. Since we are using pickle jars, andnot pyrex, they can shatter easily if heated or cooled too quickly. It is recommended using a doubleboiler with hot (not boiling) water to warm the solution. To cool, simply turn off the heat source andallow the solution to slowly return to room temperature.1. When using muratic acid, heat the jar for 15-30 minutes.2. When using weaker acids, simmer the contents overnight.

Allow the contents of the jar 24 hours to react the first time. The alkaloids (tryptamines)are converted into salts and become water soluble. Our Egg is now contained in the aqueoussolution.

STEP 4: Filtration:

Plug the bottom of the funnel with cotton balls or cotton cloth to create a cotton-filter.Pour the contents of Jar B through the funnel and into Jar C. Squeeze the root-bark contentsinside the filter to press out the remaining juices. Save the root-bark that has beencaught by the filter and place it back into Jar B.

Lab Notes:Whether filtering material through a cotton-filter or a coffee filter it helps if thethinner parts of the solution are filtered first, followed by the mushy and more bulkycomponents (which may clog the pores of your filters as you strain.) The better yourfiltration, the more rapid and efficient your emulsions, also resulting in a cleaner product.Cotton must be specifically used. Other fibers have the potential to react with our solvents. A teastrainer (wire strain) can be a simple way to separate bulk ruffage. Another way to improve thismethod is to use a vacuum filter. There are several varieties, the most affordable being a watervacuum filter that attaches to a household faucet. These cost about $30.00 and are very quick, useful and effective.

STEP 5: Collect 3 Extractions:

Repeat the process outlined in STEPS 2, 3, and 4, two more times. The initial extraction is mostimportant. For best results, allow the contents of the jar more time to react during the remaining twoextractions. Shake Jar B, 4 times a day, for 1 week before filtering each time through a cotton-filter.Collect the acidic contents in Jar C each time. After these initial 3 cotton-filtration cycles, clean JarA and Jar B, and dispose of remaining root-bark.After all 3 extraction phases, filter the contents of Jar C again, this time using a paper coffee-filterinstead of a cotton filter.A. Place several paper-filters (coffee filters) in the bottom of the funnel.B. Strain contents of Jar C through the paper-filters and into Jar B.C. When finished, clean Jar C.

Repeat this process as necessary to remove as many of the particulates from our solution aspossible.

Lab Notes:The majority of the alkaloids we are searching for will convert to salts in the first extraction phase. The second and third extraction phases take place over a longer period of time. This will ensure thatwe will be able to extract as many alkaloids as possible from our material. The third phase can bereduced to 1-2 days but will not produce the best yields. Remember, these measurements are allcrude estimates.

STEP 6: Defatting:

Next we defat the solution. This is part of standard lab procedure whenever extracting alkaloids ofthis sort. This process removes the oils, fats, and other unwanted substances from our aqueoussolution and also helps with yields. All DMT salts are insoluble in non-polar solvents -- with theexception of DMT acetate -- which is soluble in chlorinated non-polar solvents such as chloroformand DCM. Thus if you are using white vinegar (acetic acid) as your acid, you will need to use napthaor ether to defat as chloroform or DCM would extract the DMT acetate along with the oils and fats, defeating the purpose of this step. When using mimosa hostilis root-bark you may find this stepunnecessary, however, any plant material foliage containing chlorophyl it is strongly recommended. To do this we add an organic (non-polar) solvent to the acidic solution. Before using any solventstest a significant amount (~500ml) of the solvent by evaporating it in a dish. This will verify thatthere are no residues or orders left when evaporation is complete (commonly found in many over-the-counter solvents.) Later in the procedure (STEP 10) you will be evaporating this solvent to leavea smokable form of DMT. Anything your solvent contributes, you may be smoking in the finalproduct. Below are listed several more common organic non-polar solvents. A. Naphtha: Coleman fuel, VM&P naphtha, Zippo, or lighter fluid. Evaporate a small amount in a dish andinspect the residue if you are unsure of it's contaminants. If used for the extraction phase insteadof the defatting phase, warm naphtha will extract alkaloids much better than cool naphtha. Naphtha

Page 23: Luciferian Alchemy

is considered more selective for catching these alkaloids than DCM. Naphtha rises to the top of thejar. B. Methylene Chloride: Also known as DCM or dichloromethane. Often used as an adhesive solvent for acrylics. PureDCM can be found in craft stores. DCM must be distilled first from all non-flammable paint strippersbeforehand (they contain a paste that holds several unwanted substances.) The paint stripper mayalso contain methanol (most marine grade paint strippers are 80-90% DCM. Methanol is also anorganic solvent. DCM distills at 47° C or 116° F. Pure DCM is best. May cause cancer andblindness. Take necessary precautions. Methylene chloride sinks to the bottom of the jar. C. Ether: Contained in engine-starting fluid purchased at automotive stores. To remove liquid ether from anengine-starting aerosol can, spray the contents of the can down a 12 inch (~30cm) length of 3/4 inchPVC pipe. The ether will condense on the sides of the pipe and fall into the jar, while the inertpropellant will be released into the air. Ether is extremely volatile. Ether floats to the top of the jar. D. Chloroform: Chloroform (CH2C12) can be purchased over the internet from arts and crafts warehouses. It has atendency to be harsh on organics and has a boiling range of 35-65°C (95-149° F). Chloroform sinksto the bottom of the jar.

It is important to remember what type of organic solvent you use. For our defatting process we willuse naphtha.

Add to Jar B ~50-100ml (~2-3.5 ounces) naphtha. (Only 10-15% the volume of our acidic solution isenough naphtha for this step. Visualize what 10% of the total of the solution is and add that amountof naphtha into the jar.) Cap the lid on Jar B and shake the contents vigorously for 20 minutes. SetJar B aside and allow for emulsion (foam, bubbles, solutions, particles, etc.) to separate into twodistinct layers (much like oil and water will separate.) This may take ~24 hours (48 in some cases.)The oils and fats will migrate into the non-polar solvent layer leaving our alkaloids in the aqueoussolution. Since we are using naphtha, the solvent layer will rise to the top of Jar B. Using a pipette(or turkey baster) remove the solvent layer and discard.

Repeat defatting process 2 times.Lab Notes:

A separatory funnel is very handy for dividing and eliminating layers of solutions. This deviceconsists of a single chamber with a tapered bottom. On the bottom is a closed faucet. Thecontainer is filled with the two solutions and they are mixed. After mixing, the apparatus is set asideuntil both fluids separate into two distinct layers. The lower fraction of the fluids can be drained viathe bottom faucet and into a container for preservation or to discard. A quick separatory funnel canbe made by filling a Ziplock plastic baggie with your mixtures, and hanging it from one corner. When the layers have separated, the bottom corner of the bag is pinched and then cut for drainage. It is suggested to test the baggie to make sure your solvents will not melt it.

STEP 7: Prepare to Basify :

In this step we will be preparing the solution for the alkaloids migration using a common organicnon-polar solvent. For our solvent we will use warm naphtha (other solvents are identified in STEP6.)Add to Jar B 100ml (~3 ounces) warm naphtha. Shake the jar for 5 minutes.

STEP 8: Basify to pH 11:

Now we must basify our solution. By doing this we will "unhook" the salt and transform the alkaloidinto its "free base" form. The alkaloids will no longer be a salt, nor will they be soluble in water. This allows us to extract them with the organic solvent added in STEP 7. Ammonium hydroxide isnormally used, but for our experiment we will be using NaOH found in household lye crystals (RedDevil drain cleaner) and purchased at hardware stores. Lye is very caustic and can react violently.Take the proper precautions when using lye.A good mixture for basifying is 5g (~0.2 ounces) lye mixed with 95g (~3 ounces) water. The reasonwe dilute the base is to prevent localized pH spikes which will destroy the alkaloids in the area thatwe are adding the concentrated base. Create a basic mixture as follows:

Page 24: Luciferian Alchemy

A. Fill Jar A 95ml (~3 ounces) full with water. B. Slowly add 5g (~1 teaspoon) of lye to water. Shake and mix contents thoroughly. C. Test to make sure pH is ~12.

Now using a pipette transfer small amounts of solution in Jar A into Jar B. A. Stir and check the pH of contents in Jar B after each transfer of lye solution until the solution inJar B reaches a pH of ~11-12. B. Shake the jar but be careful of pressure that will build up inside the jar. Release the lid and ventoften! The solution will change a gray color as the alkaloids are turned from acid salts to free base.It may resemble a thick gel. Then the solution will turn black and slippery as you add more base. The jar will heat up during this process.

You have now formed the free base alkaloids that are soluble in non-polar solvents.

STEP 9: Emulsions:

As these alkaloids dissolve in non-polar solvent added in STEP 7, an emulsion will form. Thestrength of emulsion formed is directly proportional to the strength of stirring. Heavy, rapid stirringproduces a thick emulsion that takes up to 4 days to settle out. Light, slow stirring over a longerperiod of time produces and emulsion that separates quickly without affecting the yield. Let the jarsit overnight until the emulsion has separated into two distinct layers. If emulsion has not cleared in48 hours, try the following: A. Sometimes adding a lot of salt and gentle stirring will make the polar layer more polar andhelp with emulsions. B. Add more organic solvent. C. Filter solutions again through a cotton filter several times. A paper filter will not work. B. Test and increase the pH.

The naphtha will create a thick orange emulsion with small bubbles that sometimes takes over 48hours to separate. Always wait a few days before trying other methods to break down the emulsion.Keeping the naphtha warm will increase the amount of alkaloids it carries with it during eachextraction. To help keep the jar warm, place it in a pot surrounded by warm water. Naphtha floats. If DCM is used for our extraction solvent in STEP 7, we will have a faster resolving emulsion thannaphtha (less than an hour in some cases.) The solvent will turn a darker color, usually reddish-brown or yellow. DCM sinks. Allow a minimum of 24 hours for the contents of the jar to reactcompletely. If using methanol allow a minimum of 4 days warmed to room-temperature for reactionsto complete.

Using a pipette remove the corresponding solvent layer from Jar B and save it in Jar A.

STEP 10: Final Alkaloid Extraction and Evaporation:

Repeat STEP 7 and STEP 9 (in that order) 2 times. Our Egg falls from the basified aqueous solutionand into our solvent. The combined solvent fractions from our solvent extractions should now be in Jar A. Pour contentsof Jar A into a glass baking dish. Allow for the solvent to evaporate. Evaporation may take up toone week (depending on your solvent.) During this time keep dish with solvent away from heat oropen flame. This is the Philosophical Egg of the Philosophers Stone.

Expose the Egg to UV Black Light for 7 Days in a sealed Vacuumed jar..

On the 8th day the Stone is ready for consumption. Begin with twenty-five milligrams of the Materia.

Lab Notes:

After DCM has evaporated your product may contain trace amounts of hydroxide. Some findhydroxide to be unpleasant in the final product. To help reduce this try washing the crystals inwater, and letting the water evaporate. Water can be added to the solvent evaporating dish to helpcarry off hydroxide.
