11. IMPACT

I developed and led to the signing several partnership agreements between the Department of Computer Science of the University of Turin (where I worked from 2015 to 2017) and public, private, non-profit organisations interested in participating to the R&D process for technology-supported innovation in local activities.

The three most important institutional agreements had been signed with: § The Council of the District 4 of Turin (135.000 inhabitants) in 2016 § The City Council of the Metropolitan City of Turin (2.2 million inhabitants) for 2016 and 2017 § The Division “Culture and Tourism” of the Piedmont Region Administration (supporting over 2600

associations and businesses operating in the sector of creative industries in a Region of 4.4 Million Inhabitants) in 2017.

The institutional agreements sustained the active and pro-active collaboration of the University with Local Authorities in projects and initiatives of public interests, contributing to the third mission of the University as a driver of innovation and local development (beyond producing knowledge and providing education).

I actively promoted the technological transfer of research experiences developed in academia in a new setting: a consultancy in strategic design and innovation of technology-supported participatory processes and community projects. In 2017, I co-founded a startup, SITY – Urban and Civic Technologies, having the characteristics of “Innovative Start Up”, according to the Italian business regulations. In my capacity of managing director and designer, I led the company to the successfully delivery of the first project aimed at fostering the cooperation between creative industries and public sector in the city of San Dona’ di Piave, Italy (Budget: 40.000 €).
