The LSU basketball team is certainly off to a great start this season and Coach Jones has his squad positioned to finish strong this spring. Similarly, Coach Mainieri will field a pre-season top 5 team when the baseball season begins in less than two weeks. Excitement is building for LSU Athletic teams and LSU Trademark Licensing will keep you up to date with any hot market opportunities that may develop in the coming months. Tiger Silhouette Youth Licensees First featured in our November 1, 2013 newsletter, the LSU Tiger Silhouette logo program has continued to grow and gain popularity among Tiger fans. Developed as a niche, fashion mark, the Tiger Silhouette has intentionally only been distributed to a very select number of best in class fashion apparel licensees including Cutter & Buck, OCJ Apparel, Pennington & Bailes, Peter Millar and Southern Tide. One clear area for growth in this program is in the youth/infant/toddler segment of the market. LSU Trademark Licensing has had some discussions about adding youth licensees to the Tiger Silhouette program and we welcome your suggestions for possible licensee partners. Please email Brian Hommel ([email protected]) with any recommendations for growing the program. We hope you find it useful to see which companies are selling the most LSU products overall in these categories. Keep in mind that some of the licensees on these lists may sell in distribution channels separate from your store’s distribution channel. As always, you can find licensee contact information on the licensee lists at www.LSU.com. While the Tailgate Show had about half the number of exhibiting companies of CAMEX, those in attendance were primarily focused on licensed products rather than blank goods such as school supplies. A majority of collegiate licensees attend both the Tailgate Show and CAMEX and, if your store has the opportunity, we would recommend that you try to visit the Tailgate Show and/or CAMEX to visit with licensees and take advantage of show ordering specials.
