LRBC MARCH NEWSLETTER Issue 3 Volume 2017
“But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.” John 4:14
For the past couple of weeks, the story found in John 4 of the woman at the well meeting Jesus has popped up in my life constantly. It was part of a Bible study I am currently going through, and I think there is a lot we can learn here. How many of you have ever felt lonely? Depressed? Angry? Empty? Without hope? I would say most of us (if not all!) can nod our heads and agree with one of those feelings. Most of us have heard about how we are born empty, with a need only God can fill. It is true, but what about after we are saved? Just because we accept Jesus to come into our lives does not mean we will never feel these ways again. Jesus was instructing this woman on salvation, but sometimes we lose sight of the living water God offers us and focus only on our thirst. We complain about our thirst, ignoring God holding water out in front of us. Jesus’ living water is not just a handful, or a cup; it is a well! Jesus’ living water does not just satisfy the temporary thirst because it is eternal. Lysa Terkeurst, the author of Finding I AM, notes that in this chapter “Jesus wasn’t just offering provision for today; He was offering a permanent solution for the future.” Though we may be Christians, none of us are perfect, and we all need refreshed from time to time. We lose sight of our surroundings and the living water surrounding us by focusing on our temporary thirst. When we allow Jesus to be our everything, He quenches our thirst and leaves us more satisfied than anything else. Let us drink from the living water Jesus offers. Let us quench our thirst at the eternal Well. As long as we are drinking from Jesus’ living water, we will not thirst but will be wholly satisfied with Him. Casting Crowns eloquently penned Jesus’ call to us: “And all who thirst will thirst no more, / And all who search will find what their souls long for, / The world will try, but it can never fill, / So leave it all behind, and come to the well.” Nothing can satisfy our thirst except for Jesus. Let’s do as the song encourages and go to the Well.

ANNIE ARMSTRONG WEEK OF PRAYER
MINISTRY SPOTLIGHT-SUNDAY SCHOOL Sunday school is an important part of Lantana Road Baptist Church. Sunday school is about discipleship, fellowship, learning about Christ and spiritual growth. Sunday school offers the opportunity for people to come together once a week for the purpose of intentional and interactive Bible study. Studying the Bible is essential to our spiritual growth. There are several different studies going on during the Sunday school hour. These studies include studies of the book of Revelations, Acts, James, John and a study beginning on God the Son and God Among Us. The children and youth are also being taught Bible based lessons in age appropriate classes. Paul writes in Romans 12:12-13:12 Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer; Distributing to the necessity of saints; given to hospitality. Paul knew that believers needed fellowship with one another. A Sunday school class can become a group who cares for one another, ministers to each other and provides mutual support during the good times and the bad. If your heart is heavy about an illness, a wayward child or other issues, your Sunday school class will help you pray about these needs. The Sunday school class is a great place to get understanding and support. To grow as disciples of Jesus Christ we need interaction with other Christians. You can also find ways to serve Christ in your community and around the world. Sunday school helps to provide these opportunities. High Attendance Day for Sunday school is April 2nd. We need to reach people. Start thinking now about who you can invite to Sunday school. Invite your neighbors, friends, family and co-workers to come and see for themselves how Sunday school attendance can help make a difference in their life. If you are not attending Sunday school, commit to attending on April 2nd and see for yourself what Sunday School is about. Jay Colton

#CREW CORNER “And Moses said unto God, Who am I, that I should go
unto Pharaoh, and that I should bring forth the children
of Israel out of Egypt?” – Exodus 3:11
We are called to an incredible mission: Tell the world!
Tell them of a wonderful maker who loves them enough
to do everything that was needed so that we could walk
in peace with God. Tell them that the high price for that
privilege was the death of God’s only begotten Son, a
life Jesus willingly gave in exchange for their sin. Tell
them that we have nothing left to fear, not even death
because Jesus defeated it when He rose from the tomb
on the third day! Tell them that there is no catch, no fine
print, no gimmick; if they simply put their faith in the
one who paid their debt, they will be saved. Seems like a
wonderful mission, to be the bearer of good news to a
people who need it so desperately.
But, who am I? Who am I that God would use me as His
voice to those who don’t know him? Who am I to be the
bearer of life changing, soul saving news. That’s a lot of
responsibility God, are you sure there’s not someone
else you would rather use?
Praise the Lord that His answer is and will always be,
No! He wants you, He made you, he knows you, and he
choose you! “But you are a chosen race, a royal
priesthood, a holy nation, a people for His possession, so
that you may proclaim the praises of the One who called
you out of darkness into His marvelous light” (1 Pet
2.9). It was always you (Eph 1.4)! There was no plan B.
Before God ever made the universe, He chose you to
exist in this moment to do His will. Who are you? You
are the chosen of God! Go tell them the good news.

WISDOM FOR LIFE James Code
12 Blessed is the man that endureth
temptation: for when he is tried, he shall
receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath
promised to them that love him.13 Let no
man say when he is tempted, I am tempted
of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil,
neither tempteth he any man:14 But every
man is tempted, when he is drawn away of
his own lust, and enticed.15 Then when lust
hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin,
when it is finished, bringeth forth death.
James 1:12-15
