Thank you to George Grove, Tony Range, John Durnell, RichardEaton, Mike & Sonny, and all of the many people drafted torenovate the bowling alley. It looks amazing.
Thank you to Chris Kinder for his plaster repair and painting inthe entrances to the church. Its just wonderful.
Thank you to Steve Coffey, Jon Copeland, Larry Huegatter, BillByrd, Matt McBride, Chris Kinder, George Grove & ChuckLawrence and all others drafted to help with the parking lot.
Thank you to Lynne Keay & Maria Lawrence for meeting andhelping many couples getting married at Lafayette Park.
Thank you to Bill Byrd and Patrick Bullin for their help during
the upcoming weddings. Thank you to all who have brought in school supplies for
Hodgen School. Thanks to Cindy Pillow for coordinating thisimportant effort.
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
I know it's early to talk about the school bags for Hodgen, our neighborhoodschool, but school supplies are on sale now and to be good stewards of ourresgources now is the time to purchase them. I will get the baggies that theitems will go in and order the green markers. We are asking for these thingsto go in the bags:
a box of 24 crayonsa theme book ( about 70 pages)a #2 pencila glue sticka chunky pink eraser ( no pencil toppers please)a black or blue stick pena pocket foldera note of encouragement to a student (no student names please)
Hodgen's school colors are green and white so if you want school colorsgreen is good, but any color will do. There are approximately 275 students. You can purchase things for a bag, or many of the same item, we wouldappreciate all donations.
I would also like to ask for 20 boxes of tissues and 20 bottles of hand sani-tizer for each classroom. There is a green basket in fellowship hall and onein the SW corner of the sanctuary for your donations. If you would like tomake a monetary gift and have us shop for you, make checks payable toLPUMC and write Hodgen school supplies on the memo line of your check.

Local Church Stewardship Rev. Kendall Waller
Childrens Ministry Rev. Laura TaylorConnectivity is Key for Family MinistryFamily ministry is not a particular event or program, but is an overall view of evangelism and ministry that seeksto offer parents & guardians the tools to connect their children with Christ while the family as a whole grows astrue disciples in worship of God and service to the world. Do you have a connected church or a dissected church
when it comes to family ministry?
Lay Leaders/Lay Speakers Emily Peach and Jeff FothergillLaity Connection: How to connect laity in service with local missions. Laity and pastors can find out volun-
teer service opportunities that best meet the calling of their local church. Many different options are avail-
able year-round without leaving town. How does your church together impact your community? Present-
ers: 1) The Bridge, Debra Crowe; 2) Epworth Children & Family Services, Margaret Mahen; 3) Kingdom
House, Ken Gottman; and 4) Shalom House, TBA.
District Conference & Guest Speaker 4:00 pm
We will use the same conference format as last year. We will approve the budget and the district nominations re-port and then Rev. Gil Rendle will be our guest speaker. This year Gil will pick up the conversation focusing ongenerational ministry. Last year we looked at the overall leadership challenge that faces the leaders of our
churches. One clear way in which those challenges are experienced in the local church is across generational dif-ferences. While generational differences make folks uncomfortable their presence, and the discomfort that theyproduce, are actually signs of health and hope in the church. Gil will offer a way to understand some of the morefundamental generational issues that congregations face and then suggest how leaders can address these differ-ences.

The New Day Choir
The New Day Choir, which practices
weekly at the Bridge, sang during 2 wor-
ship services recently, one at Lafayette
Park United Methodist Church, and the
other at Centenary United Methodist
Church. They opened the services with
"Learning to Lean," followed by "Softly
& Tenderly," closing with "In that Great
Gittin' Up Mornin.'" The enthusiasm
and spirit of the group was manifested
during both services, according to those
who witnessed their participation.
