(Foreign languages and new technologies(Foreign languages and new technologies))Three core competencies are necessary for language teachers / trainers who are willing to exploit the e-learning potentials :

– Knowing how to choose products within the available identifying

those that best meet their educational needs.

– Knowing how to use and enhance the products available either as

an alternative or as integration of traditional methodologies.

– Knowing how to create educational and training products that

exploit the potential of new technologies.

The Context 2/2The Context 2/2In order to respond to the needs outlined above, the LeTS project developed:

– 4 On Line training courses on the following topics:- Introduction to e-learning

- Research and evaluation of e-learning based language training products

- Development of e-learning based language learning sources

- Effective use of e-learning based language learning sources

– A collection of tools and sources related to e-learning

The ObjectivesThe Objectives

The Lets Go project intends to promote the exploitation of the LeTS portal.

It aims to enable teachers:

-choose quality language teaching products identifying those that best meet specific needs.

-use the products available either as an alternative or as

integration of traditional methodologies.

-create their own educational and training products that exploit

the potential of new technologies.

– teachers of languages in schools– language trainers in training institutions

• The creation of two transnational networks of:– 200 teachers of languages in schools (50 schools)– 100 language trainers (30 training institutions)

• Improvement of the LeTS Portal• Delivery of training courses on e-learning applied to

language teaching and training.• Database of teachers’ and trainers’ experiences in the

field of application of e-learning to language education and training.
