Ensuring Optimal Prosthetic Foot Performance

To maximize performance and user satisfaction with Freedom Innovations foot products, it is essential that they be ordered according to the appropriate specifications. When the optimal device is effectively fit, users should experience a prosthetic foot that assists them with a natural gait and stands up to high impact forces.

• Check to be sure that the user’s prosthesis will have the build space needed for the prosthetic foot that has been chosen.

• To provide the most responsive energy storage and return device, clinicians should typically select the “tallest” foot that can be fit within the given build space. This ensures utilization of the longest carbon fiber or glassfiber spring possible and as a result, the most dynamic response.

• The user's “impact level” is determined by their desired regular daily activities. The following chart will help classify the impact level as Low, Moderate or High. Be careful not to overestimate the user's activity level, to avoid selecting a product that is too stiff.

• By matching the user's impact level with their weight the appropriate foot stiffness category can be identified.

User Settings – Hi Tech and Low Tech

Using the Kinnex App or manual ankle keypad user can monitor: battery status, change heel heights for different shoes and engage Apparel Assist Mode. Through the Kinnex App, the user will also be able to access additional features such as: storing shoe settings and making minor fine tuning resistance adjustments.

A Manual Lock

This convenient feature allows users to quickly and easily lock out the ankle when needed for special activities like driving, climbing a ladder or standing in one position for an extended period of time. When activated, the foot will remain the neutral 90° position.

Changing Footwear / Shoe Selection

The change footwear button will allow you to manually change

your footwear without use of the Kinnex App.

Apparel Assist Mode

Apparel Assist is designed to help in putting on clothes or footwear. When active Kinnex will stay in the current position until the change shoes button is pressed or until weight is put on it.

For the user Resistance adjustments Fine tuning resistance adjustments can be made by the user as needed. To adjust the stiffness of the ankle, tap “Adjust” at the bottom of the screen. Any adjustments made will be saved under this shoe (if you change shoes and would like to keep these same resistance changes, you will need to manually change them again once switching to the other shoes).
