The tabulation below compares, in round terms, the energy saving between an existing T8 fluorescent and a retrofit T5 solution. It does not take into account the energy savings that accrue from the ability to use a PIR as part of the solution. In general T5s have a lifetime of 10,000 to 20,000 operating hours.
