A WINTER LOVE STORE, OUR “QUILT! CAROLINA PROJECT”Donna/$45 (2 day class)Tuesday, 10-1, Oct. 13 & 20This class was created for those of you who loved out Storm at Sea quilt which Carol designed for Quilt! Carolina. This beautiful quilt only looks hard! In this class you will learn to construct all of the elements of this quilt. We will discuss combining the elements into blocks and placing the blocks so that the pattern emerges. Please understand that you will not finish the quilt in class, but you will leave with a clear understanding of how to complete the quilt top.

ADVANCED EMBROIDERY SOFTWARE TRAININGDonna/$80 (4 day class)Tuesday, 10-1, Oct. 27, Nov. 3-17These classes are for embroiderers that are comfortable using Embroidery Software 7 and are looking for more in-depth instruction. This 4-part class will cover special lettering effects, digitizing for applique, and manual digitizing. Included in each class will be additional instruction on using the features of Art Canvas. You must have BERNINA Embroidery Software 7, Designer Plus level, to take this class.

ALL ABOUT EMBROIDERYMargaret/$20 (1 day class)Saturday, 10-1, Oct. 24WHAT’S IN YOUR WALLET?While focusing on some basic troubleshooting guidelines to make your embroidery look its best, we will make this wallet. It folds flat and can hold your credit cards or loyalty cards

for easy access. Great for beginners, but fun for anyone to make and this is the perfect project to show off your embroidery designs.

APPLIQUE TREE PILLOWTianna/$20 (1 day class)Thursday, 1:30-4:30, Oct. 8This is our favorite thing to do with all our little scraps! This pillow cover is 16” square with an envelope back and the design possibilities are endless! In this class you will learn basic sewing techniques as well as raw edge applique.

Skills such as fabric selection/color choice, quilting supplies, quilt construction, and how to organize a scrap collection will be discussed. When the final construction of the quilt top begins, you will have the option of using a “quilt-as-you-go” technique to quilt the top, batting, and back as you sew the quilt together. The conclusion of the class will be back art construction and binding techniques.

You will learn how to break down this complicated looking quilt into three basic quilting elements! We will be working with the Nifty Notions rulers and adding connector techniques to our piecing to make a spectacular block! We will simplify the cutting, so wait for the class to cut! Please bring your lunch because you will not want to miss a thing!

Construct from scratch a unique accent piece or make a treasured gift. Enjoy a fun-filled sewing and upholstery class designed for beginning and intermediate students who have basic sewing machine skills. Students will create an 18” wide by 10” tall strip-pieced tuffet during this workshop. Please be sure to pre-cut your strips or purchase a jelly roll before class.

BLOOMING 9 PATCH QUILTPenny/$45 (3 day class)Saturday, 10-1, Nov. 7 & 14, Dec. 5A great experience for those who love color and color theory. This quilt is made with simple small squares and a 9 patch. Learn from Penny about precision sewing and the importance of various grains of fabric.

COLOR THEORYAlexis/$20 (1 day class)Saturday, 1:30-4:30, Nov. 7This color theory class will teach you how to pick the best combination of colors and textures for any project, whether it’s a quit, a painting, or the interior design of a room. The lecture is an hour and a half followed by an open sew, during which Alexis will be available for questions about color and texture matching. Fabulous for beginners!

NIFTY NOTIONSDonna/$20 (1 day class)Wednesday, 10-1, Nov. 11Nifty Notions Specialty rulers can make your piecing easier and more accurate! Get a refresher course on how to use the rulers and learn to convert traditional cutting instructions found in many patterns to instructions for using these rulers!

Finished placemats are 18”x14” and are created by layering your backing, batting, and strips. It is a fun and simple way to brighten your house with holiday fabrics of your choice!

SILHOUETTE NEW OWNERS CLASSDonna/$0 (1 day class)Friday, 10-1, Nov. 13This class is intended for all new owners of a Silhouette cameo, and will help you get started with your cutting system. You will be introduced to the tools in the software and cut a design that you create. This class is free to customers who purchased their cameo at Loving Stitches, however there will be a kit fee to cover the materials you will be given in class.

STUPENDOUS STITCHINGDonna/$45 (1 day class)Monday, 10-4, Nov. 2You can create a beautiful piece of textile art using the methods described in the book Stupendous Stitching by Carol Ann Waugh. In this all day workshop, you will learn all of the techniques you need to finish your piece. Some students will finish in class, but everyone will leave with a clear understanding of how to complete this project. Your finished piece will measure approximately 18”x22” and can be quilted and bound or used in a variety of other projects. Come and have fun playing with the decorative stiches on your machine!

SANTA’S STOCKINGJacinta/$20 (1 day class)Saturday, 1:30-4:30, Nov. 7In this class, you will learn how to make a fun holiday stocking which will feature a Santa on top. This will be a great addition to your mantle. Plus it is simple enough to make one for each person in your family!
