meet you! Please take a moment to leave us your information on the envelope and drop it in the offering box. Feel free to introduce yourself to any of our pastors as well. They would love to chat with you for a moment and welcome you personally!

Got Kids? Kids Church is offered for all Sunday services. Sign-in for children ages six weeks to Kindergarten is in the church office building. Sign-in for 1st–5th graders is through the breezeway to the northeast side of the building.

KidsChurch Promotion Sunday Next Sunday, August 18, KidsChurch classes will be “promoted” to the next grade levels. Kindergarteners will move up to elementary KidsChurch and all elementary students will move up to match their grade for the 2013-2014 academic year. (Early Childhood parents: watch for signs in the Early Childhood wing.)

Can You Bowl Better Than a 5th Grader? This Sunday, August 11, at 1:30 p.m., all KidsChurch 5th graders (going into 6th grade this fall) are invited to an afternoon of FREE bowling and shoe rental at the AMF Arvada Lanes just east of 66th and Wadsworth. Friends and family members are also invited for a cost of only $1.29 per game plus $4.40 shoe rental. This is a non-chaperoned event. Come join us as we celebrate graduating our 5th graders to InnerMission 6!

Kids Praise Team Children entering grades 4 and 5 this coming year are encouraged to be part of the Kids Praise team that leads worship in KidsChurch once a month and in the adult worship services on Orange Sundays. The registration workshop to be a part of the team will be coming up later this month with a “first performance” scheduled in KidsChurch on Sunday, September 1.

Hawaiian Shirt Day Sunday, September 1, is Hawaiian Shirt Day in KidsChurch!

KidsChurch Missions Giving Since last Labor Day, 2012, the KidsChurch children have given over $3,200 to support a Compassion International child, LightBridge Ministries children, and other missions projects. If they reach $5,000 by this coming Labor Day, the kids get to shave Pastor D’s head!

Run for Women and Children We are planning a 315 mile relay run from Grand Junction to Arvada, September 6-8. We are running to commemorate Barry McDonald’s 315 mile run across Haiti this past January and to raise awareness and resources for maternal health. Registration is $65 and includes a custom t-shirt, water bottle, and bragging rights to running across the Colorado Rockies! Money raised above registration will go toward supporting the work Heartline Ministries is doing in Haiti.

Young Fathers Group There is an epidemic in our society and community—lost young fathers! Glass Hearts is excited to announce the Glass Hearts Jefferson County Young Fathers Program. Dads empowering young dads! The core components of this program are: physical, educational, and spiritual development of young dad ages 16-24. Our first group meeting is Thursday night, September 5, at 6 p.m. at warehouse 180. This will be a free weekly meeting. There are three specific areas we need assistance: (1) Prayer, (2) Connection with young dads, and (3) “Seasoned” mentors that can connect to these hungry young men.
