Amtrak long-distance trains serving Los Angeles include the Coast Starlight with service to the Bay Area, Portland and Seattle. The Southwest Chief with service to Flagstaff, Albuquerque and Chicago; and the Sunset Limited providing service to the Phoenix area, Tucson, San Antonio, and New Orleans. Metrolink provides regional commuter rail service between Los Angeles and five surrounding counties: Ventura, San Bernardino, Riverside, Orange and northern San Diego. Commuter and midday service is offered, as well as some weekend service.

Metro Rail Metro Rail provides local urban rail service within Los Angeles County. From Union Station, take the Gold Line to Pasadena or East LA, take the Red Line to North Hollywood or the Purple Line to Koreatown. The Red/Purple Line connects to the Blue Line in downtown LA, extending your reach to Long Beach and to the Green Line. Metro Rail provides day, evening and weekend service.

Metro and municipal bus services stop in front of Union Station on Alameda Street, at the East Portal bus plaza, and at each corner of the Union Station block.
DASH
The downtown LA circulator service is frequent and convenient. Destinations include: Chinatown; Civic Center; Financial District, Toy, Jewelry and Fashion Districts; LA LIVE, Staples Center and LA Convention Center; USC and Exposition Park. DASH B stops in front of Union Station on Alameda St and DASH D stops at Patsaouras Transit Plaza, Bay 2, at the East Portal. Service frequency is every five to ten minutes throughout the day, until 6:30pm or 7:00pm.
