June 16, 2015 Emily Zender Executive Director, Illinois Right to Life [email protected] 312.422.9300 Greetings, Emily. Please accept my submission to be considered for the position of Illinois Right to Life Program Manager. Let me share the following three reasons why I believe I may be the right candidate… Professionally…I am a skilled planner and promoter with a successful track record of full spectrum involvement. My strong communications and development background undergirds event coordination with a focus on presenting a clear, consistent message. Attention to detail is paramount – through inception, strategy, promotion, presentation and follow up. Event coordination, planning, promotion and consulting have been an intrinsic part of each of my career postings. I have managed or been deeply involved in presenting many promotional and fundraising events, and been responsible for the promotion and publicity of numerous others. The pro-life organizations whose causes I have professionally advanced include Illinois Right to Life, March for Life Chicago, Speak Out Illinois, Aid for Women, Lutherans for Life, CareNet Pregnancy Services of DuPage, Life Legal Defense Foundation, Pro-Life Action League, Students for Life, Word of Hope, Voice of Care and the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod Northern Illinois District Life Ministry. Personally…I am committed to pro-life involvement. I vote pro-life, write pro-life curriculum and regularly witness to the sanctity of human life. Pro-life organizations that I have been involved with and financially support include Illinois Right to Life, CareNet Pregnancy Services of DuPage, Lutherans for Life, Word of Hope, and Voice of Care. I have done sidewalk counseling with Illinois Citizens for Life, prayed with 40 Days for Life, and walked door to door with ICE-PAC (Illinois Citizens for Ethics Pro-Life Political Action Committee). Proactively…I endorse the mission of Illinois Right to Life and believe that educational life initiatives are incredibly important. Whether bringing information about pregnancy help and adoption services to a woman who is pregnant and scared or exposing the dreadful health and safety risks at Illinois’ abortion facilities, Illinois Right to Life is leading people to “be transformed by the renewal of your mind.” Sadly, the culture of death which deems abortion and euthanasia as acceptable has not been greatly impacted by the science of when life begins. Society is in need of a heart transplant. Illinois Right to Life is paving the way for spiritual and social transformation through honest dissemination of hard truth combined with overwhelming compassion. While I am unflinchingly pro-life, it is not the polarizing black and white of right and wrong that best clarifies the issue for me. Rather it is the fact that my daughters have never known a society in which – under different circumstances – they could have been aborted. How grievous and tragic. Illinois Right to Life has much work to do and I am eager to be a part of that mission. Please find links here to my downloadable resume and a writing sample, plus a link to a handful of the thousands of national and local media releases, features and essays I have written. I am also providing recognitions and professional references. Best Regards, Lori E. Solyom 630.640.0426 [email protected] P.S. Emily, I would love the opportunity to interview in person for the position of Illinois Right to Life Program Manager. Thank you in advance for your consideration.
