A Widow Finds New LifeRead Ruth 1:11-4:22

A ter a young Moabite woman named Ruth and her mother-in-law, Naomi, become widows,a special relationship is orged between the two women. Ruth promises Naomi in Ruth 1:16(New Living Translation) Dont ask me to leave you and turn back. I will go wherever you goand live wherever you live. Your people will be my people, and your God will be my God. Ruthdoes not hesitate to make Naomis God hers as well.

Ruths character is clearly de ned; courage, loving-kindness, aith ulness and compassionare but some o her qualities. She does not hesitate to work hard in the elds o Bethlehemto provide ood or hersel and Naomi. One o these elds is owned by Boaz, a relative o Naomi by marriage. Ruth goes so ar as to take a risk in the hope that Boaz will become theirprotector. Through the hand o God, aith turns tragedy into new li e or Ruth and Naomi. Ruthnds a loving husband in Boaz.

Has God given you hope through the risks youve taken as you have trusted in Hisaith ulness or your uture? Prov.18:10 promises, The name o the Lord is a strong tower; therighteousness run to it and are sa e. Ruth could say God was her strong tower.

God brought a miracle o love and security out o tragedy. Ruths growing aith in the Lord

God o her mother-in-law, Naomi, brought her a hope and a uture. Little did she know Godwould bless her with a husband and a son. Look in Matthew 1:5 to see Boaz (Rahabs son andgreat grand ather o King David) and Ruth mentioned as part o the lineage o Jesus. Ruthsli e is a model o aith ulness to us. No matter how hard that li e had become God wasaith ul to her and redeemed her uture.

Dear God, I know You want the best or me. Your love secures my uture even when

it seems uncertain. Forgive me when I lose hope. My uture is secure through Jesussacri ce on the cross. As I live li e here on earth, help me to never orget that You giveme hope and will be my strength during di cult times. I praise You or Your promise tonever leave me or orsake me. In Christs name, Amen.
