You are invited to help replenish the supply of prayer shawls our Stephen Ministry shares with their care receivers. The HandsOn Group has patterns to work from if you need one. You also can join the HandsON group on the first and third Thursdays from 7:00-8:30 p.m. in the Welcome Center to work on your shawls. Church-WideCommunity Group Sign-UpsOur Community Groups Ministry exists to help people connect with our faith community and grow deeper in relationship with God and each other to minister more effectively in the world. Several groups are open and a couple new ones are forming this fall. Most groups will run October through May.

Comfort Drive for South Dakota | Now–Oct. 12 The annual Comfort Item Drive for our Lakota friends in South Dakota continues through Oct. 12. Needed are: gently used heavier winter coats and winter gear, new socks and gently used blankets. These items will be sorted for three churches on the Cheyenne River Reservation in Frasier, Green Grass and Bridger, as well as the Lower Brule Community College on the Lower Brule Reservation. Items will be sorted and packed in the Leonard Street building Wednesday, Oct. 15, 6:30-8 PM and will be taken to South Dakota Friday, Oct. 17-Sunday, Oct. 19. Place items in the black bins at the west, south and east doors.

Coffee & Conversation | Sept. 15 | 1:00 p.m.Our Senior Adult Ministry hosts a twice-monthly Coffee & Conversation in the Social Room. No reservations needed, just bring a friend and your coffee mug!

The first Monday of each month features donuts (bring a dollar if you’d like some); on the third Monday, homemade treats are shared.

Senior High Retreat Registration Now Open! Retreat is Oct. 24-26 | Miracle HillsWe will meet at 2BC on Friday, Oct. 24, at 5 p.m. and will return Sunday, Oct. 26, at noon. Our speaker will be Chris Miller, a Create student at Central Baptist Theological Seminary. Cost is $50/for the first student, $25/student for each additional student in your family.

Registration forms are available in the youth room and the church office. Return completed forms to the lock box, church office, Ashton Wells, or Jordan Groves. Questions? Contact Ashton at [email protected], 573-239-

Liberty Fall Festival | Sept. 26-28 2BC is involved in the Fall Festival in a number of ways this year.

NEW HOSPITALITY CENTER: On Saturday, September 27, we will open our Welcome Center as a Community Hospitality room for guests from 12:00–6:00 p.m. during the Fall Festival to provide an escape from the elements if needed, for restroom facilities, family changing table and comfy chairs to relax in. We are looking for volunteers to serve as Hospitality Hosts in the welcome center for two hour increments. There will be a sign up sheet in the welcome center this Sunday or you can contact John George at [email protected] or 816-591-3413.

HANDICAP PARKING: Our parking lot is available for handicap parking Friday and Saturday.

GOLF CART SHUTTLE: We provide a free golf cart shuttle Friday and Saturday noon-6 p.m. for anyone who might need a ride to a car or another festival location. Look for the golf cart with the sign that says “Need a Lift? Just Ask.” We have a couple of two-hour slots remaining for someone wanting to drive the shuttle. If you are interested, contact Mike Lassiter, [email protected].

REMINDER: FALL FESTIVAL will continue on Sunday, Sept. 28. Here are some street and parking tips for Sunday morning: • Kansas is blocked from the Square to Lightburne; access the Juvenile Justice Center parking lot is available off of Lightburne. • The 2BC parking lot at the corner of Lightburne and Franklin will still be available. • There is on street parking on Franklin, but limited on Leonard and none on Kansas. • Coming from the west, Mill St. and Mississippi St. are the best routes to Lightburne.

Women on Mission | Oct. 7 | 9:30 a.m.All women are invited to join us for Women on Mission on Tuesday, Oct. 7. The program is as follows:

Rebuilding Together Clay County | Oct. 4On Saturday, Oct. 4, we will partner with Rebuilding Together Clay County to work on two apartment buildings that belong to Hillcrest Ministries. We will be doing drywall repair, rot repair and painting and some dirt spreading. Several more volunteers are needed, as well as several extension ladders for painting; if you can help, contact Mark Davis at 816-682-5471. Volunteers will meet at Pleasant Valley Baptist Church (1600 N. 291 Hwy.) at 7:30 a.m., then disperse to the job sites.
