“Organisational Ambidexterity can lead to
high performance organisations”
There are 2 ley elements:
Understand and successfully operate the
existing business – Alignment
Explore new, often uncertain
opportunities – Adaptability
Some History The current models of assistant usage are primarily focused on providing inpatient services. This
further highlights the need for the issues around delegation of care, supervision requirements of
assistant staff, accountabilities between the AH professional and the assistant, and defining
appropriate competence standards for the assistant, to be clarified for the use of assistant staff to
succeed (Chadwick 2007)
The National Certificate in Health, Disability and Aged Support (Health Assistance)
(Level 3) with strands in Dietitian Assistance, Dental Assistance, Healthcare Assistance and
Rehabilitation Assistance was designed to recognise the knowledge and skills required of health
assistants working in a health, disability, or community setting. Careerforce and a Sector Panel of
allied health and nursing professionals were instrumental in the design of the qualification
approved by NZQA. (work started in 2010)
