Last year, we made significant inroads into key new regions, including Africa and Eastern Europe, increasing the number of countries with IACC certified conference centres from 14 to 20. A host of annual conferences, along with regional meetings and events, offered members all kinds of important educational opportunities. Our understanding of the importance of foodservice in conference centre operations led to us creating the Annual Copper Skillet Global Chef of the Year Competition, highlighting the artistry and skills of member conference centre chefs all over the world. 2014 saw us focusing on delivering trends and content to the global meetings industry media, and developing productive new relationships with media partners. This led to an impressive 37% increase in placements. The IACC’s participation in industry trade shows and conferences grew in 2014, attending new trade shows in Singapore, London, Orlando, Istanbul and Minneapolis. The IACC attended eight Trade Shows in 2014, communicating to around 46,000 attendees! We’ve continued in our drive to create new ways of delivering education and learning, both within and outside of IACC events. Engaging with the next generation of future conference centre leaders requires strong partnerships with Hospitality Schools globally. As you’ve seen, 2014 was an impressive year, packed with all kinds of successes. www.iacconline.org So what of 2015? Well, you can expect more of the same. Our commitment to reaching (and exceeding) our goals remains as strong and focused as ever. Inspired by our track record, this year will see us aiming ever higher on behalf of our members. Members and Board Directors over four continents made significant time and resource commitments to the association. 2014 saw a record number of students participating in IACC activities, including conference attendance, conference planning and delivering trends and surveys.
