After the coronation of Elizabethand Philip moved to Buckingham Palace in central London, since 1837, official residence of British kings and queens. Queen Elizabeth was a lot of foreign travel. In the years 1953-1954 went along with her husband in a 6-month trip around the world, being the first monarch to do so.

At school Gordonstoun was chairman of the local school. Since the child had a sporting and acting ability.
