Curriculum note: In September 2015, Australian Education ministers endorsed Version 8.0 of the Australian Curriculum. At the time of writing (November 2015), two versions of the Australian Curriculum are currently available, version 8.0 and 7.5. This is to allow schools time to transition to the new version of the Australian Curriculum during 2016. The links provided in these documents are based on version 8.0 of the Australian Curriculum. Teacher’s note: For the annual Environment Day Poster Competition, Council selects a specific competition theme each year that is drawn from one of the following broad environmental themes: Biodiversity; Ecosystem services, Waterways & catchments; Climate change; Sustainable agriculture (including forestry & fisheries, food wastage); and Waste minimisation (reduce, reuse, recycle). The italicised codes and content descriptions provided in the table above are considered to be precursors to the development of the poster. This enables the integration of existing teaching and learning, culminating in the development of a poster to demonstrate student knowledge & understanding.
