Flexiform were selected by top Scottish design house Graven Images, Glasgow to put forward a quotation for the furnishing of Carrochan, the new BREEAM-winning building for the headquarters of the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park Association. Carrochan is a two-storey structure with twin-pitched slate roofs. It embodies high standards in sustainability, including a biomass primary heating system, extensive use of natural materials, and most notably a native douglas fir timber structure. All aspects of the building and interior needs to have a minimal carbon footprint, using natural materials where possible. The design and function of the building interiors need to last.

From our initial quotation, we made it through to a short list that included the world’s largest manufacturers of office furniture. Our value for money products, and willingness to work with both the design team and client to provide products that met not only aesthetics and functionality but, being a Public Sector organisation, also addressed price concerns, made Flexiform stand out among the high standard of competition.

Sustainability was also very high on the agenda; Flexiform as company, and our prodcuts, had to meet strict criteria. A culmination of all elements,

including a visit to our showroom, resulted in Flexiform being awarded the contract for a very high profile and public-facing facility.

Flexiform redeveloped products to meet the client’s requirements, including individual task lights that integrated with the high-density cable management system. The task lights also attached directly to our desk framework, opposed to the normal method of clamping to the back of a desktop.

As part of the process, we undertook a detailed file survey analysis, to ensure that the filing systems installed met exactly with the requirements of each individual department. This greatly assisted in a seamless relocation into the new facility.

We were delighted to work with Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park, and are incredibly proud of our contribution to the group winning the Carbon Trust Low Carbon Building Award in 2009.

Jot Combination StorageVarious Jot storage units were selected, including a Jot combination unit with three drawers (one of which was lockable), and one double door in a special yellow finish. Storage units were displayed and installed in sets of threes.

Jot DeskingVarious single Jot desking in all white, with an additional modesty panel, electronics and monitor arm, were installed. These were complimented with an all-black mesh task chair.

Mobile Meeting TablesLLTNPA has various breakout areas for flexible uses, including mobile meeting desks in white steel with castors and a black MFC top. All of our MFC tops are sustainably sourced, and we are FSC accredited.

Boardroom TableFlexiform installed a bespoke white steel and MFC boardroom table in a Jot style, catering for up to ten members of staff. Installed with data capabilities, the table can support various presentation styles.

Task SeatingThrough our hand-selected suppliers, we provided quality black mesh task chairs with various adjustable functions, to provide comfort to each staff member. All chairs were chosen in black, for continuity.

Addition TablesSilver steel and white MFC Addition tables with meeting seating give a practical and flexible working environment, which can be moved for different scenarios and uses.
