In 2013 and 2014, this course was well-received by a variety of health care professionals who provide primary and acute care for infants and children.

CONFERENCE OBJECTIVEParticipants will learn how to better integrate primary and subspecialty care for children with acute or chronic disease.

At the conclusion of this conference, participants will understand and be able to implement the following:

• Strategies for primary care pediatric providers in diagnosing autism and initiating management• Implications of current immunization recommendations on pediatric practice• Strategies for weight management in children• Renewed tips on EKG assessment in children• Differentiating benign chest pain vs. chest pain requiring further evaluation• Current assessment strategies for neonates with undiagnosed critical congenital heart disease• The most signifi cant current adolescent health issues confronting primary care providers• Initial strategies in managing adolescent mood disorders• Recognition of risk factors for sudden cardiac death• Current solutions to cardiac emergency preparedness• Strategies to be utilized by primary care providers in caring for young athletes• Ways to protect the brain in childhood/adolescent athletes
