I tried to enable Find My Mac, but OS X would not allow it. How can I enable Find My Mac?You first need to enable location services. To do this, click System Preferences ( ) in the Dock. Click Security & Privacy, click the Lock icon ( ), type your OS X administrator password, and then click OK ( changes to ). Click Location Services and then click Enable Location Services ( changes to ).

Is there a way to ensure that someone who finds my lost device cannot view my files or change any settings?Yes, you can use iCloud’s Find My iPhone application to lock the device. Follow Steps 1 and 2 to locate the device on a map, and then click Remote Lock. In the Remote Lock dialog that appears, type a four-digit passcode, retype the passcode, type a message that will appear on the device, and then click Lock.

iCloud displays the Send Message dialog.

4 Type your message.

5 Click Send.

iCloud sends the message, which then appears on the device screen.
