God’s Love meets the needs of low income families by delivering furniture, household goods, clothing, and other items as needed to their homes and praying for them. Sarah JohnsonMercy Ships- Senegal

Praises• Crew members coming to Christ; these volunteers were not

Christians and witnessed the love and truth of Jesus and have accepted Him as their Lord and Savior

• The seeds being planted in a nation where 96% of population is Muslim. Sarah has 14 friends who have willingly and graciously accepted Bibles

• Miracles that occurred onboard the Africa Mercy Ship in Senegal. In two situations, there was medically nothing else that could be done except pray. Prayers were lifted up over the intercom and within five minutes a crucial decline suddenly changed- thanks be to God.

Prayers• The emotional and physical endurance of Sarah and all the volunteer

sta!. They need energy, rest and excitement to continue their work• The Muslims who accepted a bible. May the seeds planted in Senegal

lead each person into a personal relationship with Jesus• Liberia, the next field service for Mercy Ships. There is concern

for a water shortage in the area that could negatively impact the service. There is also a critical need for sta! and the ability to build relationships with the people of Liberia.

INTERNATIONAL MISSIONARIES

Brother JBrother J is the president and founder of the Ananias house which seeks to support local communities of believers in the greater Middle East and North Africa who have been devastated by war and persecution, encouraging and equipping to fulfill the Great Commission.

Praises• Laying down the life of His own Son for us!• His help through all the transition of the past 2 months.• Giving our son joy in learning another language and being at a new

school.• Providing our business another customer.

Prayers• Setup routines that promote spiritual health, growth and

e!ectiveness.• Be prepared in and out of season.• Pour into our marriage, kids and all those He’s put around us.• Please pray for sustained energy and stamina as he travels to the

Middle East and other parts of the United States. Pray that he would be protected from sickness, exhaustion and that he would be able to accomplish His purpose for Ananias House. Also pray for his heart to stay focused on God and His will.

David & Kathy SawyerDavid serves as the lead pastor for Snow Hill Baptist Church. David and Kathy also engage in pre-marital counseling for couples.

Praises• Continued growth of the church revitalization at First Baptist Church

in Snow Hill, NC• A further expansion of our premarital counseling curriculum• The international mission expansion now involving WPI ministry

initiatives in 10 countries

Prayers• New members at First Baptist Church in Snow Hill to deepen their

relationship with Jesus through a variety of ministries available to grow and serve

• Newlywed couples, who participated in our WPI pre-marital counseling curriculum, to apply the Biblical principles learned to strengthen their marriage and family

• The Gospel to be shared e!ectively in every country we serve on our mission trips

INTERNATIONAL MISSIONARIES

Bishop SaintSaint is a Nigerian pastor who shepherds other pastors in Nigeria. We have supported him for over ten years as he works to pastor congregations and serve other pastors in the Northern part of Nigeria where the violence is rampant.

Praises • A new church started on January 2nd

• Local discipleship opportunities that are more than we can handle… the harvest is truly plentiful, but the workers few. Praise God for this amazing challenge.

• The team to have a solid rhythm after 4 months on the ground together, as God brings multiple people who will potentially come and join the work.

• New church building started in September 2019 is now at the roof level.

Prayers• New believers to share with friends and family, and that house

churches will be formed and multiplied through them.

• The church in a nearby country to be set on fire with love for Jesus, and for a prayer movement to arise. We are intentionally stirring this up through worship and prayer events.

• The establishment of a prayer and training center that will add momentum and strength to the prayer and discipleship trainings for Arab believers as God leads them to build . Please pray that God leads us to the right place and fully provides for it.

Nathan WhiteNathan serves as Executive Director of Third Street Education Center in Greenville. This Christian non-profit seeks to see generations transformed by the power of the Gospel in three branches: the Academy is a private Christian school for boys that provides positive male role models with high character and academic standards; the Business Workforce Development branch employs people who are di!cult to employ with the intention of launching people into the workforce with job skills and references; the Community Impact branch works to connect the community of West Greenville to resources and support.

Praises • New opportunities for Nathan and Michal as they leave later this

summer for new employment opportunities. May God guide their journey in ways that glorify Him.

• Michal completing her Master’s of Divinity from Ashbury Theological Seminary.

• God’s faithfulness at Third Street to end our third consecutive year ahead of budget as we continued to grow and expand the ministry.

Prayers• The Whites to adjust through this time of transition and feel

confident in God’s calling with unity in their marriage, peace in the hearts of their kids and for the right path to become clear for Michal to become a pastor and Nathan for his next vocation.

• The search of a new Executive Director for Third Street and a season of adjustment for the ministry

• Continued support of the ministry through the end of 2020 and beyond to ease the transition for the new leadership.

FamilyLife; a ministry of Cru, mission is to e!ectively develop godly marriages and families who change the world one home at a time. Jason serves as an Event Planner, and is responsible for coordinating events such as the “Weekend to Remember” marriage getaway in cities around the country. Ericka serves in Human Resources as FamilyLife’s Childcare Coordinator. We also help to develop marriage ministry movements in communities along the east coast.

Selina YamoutSelina serves with the Church of Tyre in Lebanon. She serves the church by leading the church to reach out to Syria refugees. She helps the church with their medical work, ministry to children and helping women recover from trauma.

Logan MaloneyLogan serves at Summit Church by discipling students in various ways at UNC-Chapel Hill.

Praises • 34 students who decided to follow Jesus for the first time this year.

• Hector, who accepted Christ after being discipled by Logan. Now Hector is sharing the gospel with Peyton and has accepted Jesus as well.

Prayers • Logan to be faithful in his relationship with Jesus knowing that He is

the one that sustains him and is worthy of giving up everything.

• The salvation of Lalo, Michael, David, Hunter, Adbul and Dylan.

• Logan as he leads a summer team in Europe for 2 months and that the team will be obedient to God and serve faithfully by sharing the gospel and discipling believers.

INTERNATIONAL MISSIONARIES

Josh & Bryan MillsJosh and Bryan serve with Sports Friends which is a ministry of SIM. They mobilize the American church to reach people through sports camps in Ethiopia, Thailand, Greece and other countries. They are based in Charlotte, NC.

Praises• Nearly 30 interns who signed up to go overseas during the summer

of 2020.

• An amazing time of worship and fellowship with Sports Friends Team in Chiang Mai, Thailand this winter. There were nearly 60 people gathered from over 15 countries to reflect on what God is doing throughout the ministry and where God would lead us from here. It was a sweet and fruitful time.

Prayers• 60 people in various stages of application process with SIM. Pray

that God would work in the lives of these people to serve. • Bryan as he is preparing teams to serve in Ethiopia, Kenya and

Thailand this summer with Sports Friends. Pray the teams work well together, have a smooth orientation and these trips would change the course of these people’s lives to want to serve cross-culturally.

Bekah IshakBekah works on sta! with InterVarsity Christian Fellowship at ECU. InterVarsity is a national movement of campus chapters that seeks to disciple and transform college students to participate in God’s global mission. Bekah identifies and equips student leaders, discipling them and training them to lead the chapter at ECU.

Praises • A Winter Conference where 12 ECU students learned about taking

risks to go deeper in their faith.• Students putting into practice what they learned at the conference,

during their daily life on campus.• A non-Christian participant of the conference has been faithfully

involved in the program since returning to campus.

Prayers• The non-Christian student to accept and follow Jesus.• Several students who will graduate in May 2020; pray for the

transition from college life to working life.• The recruitment and selection of new leaders during the spring

semester.

Building Hope has served over 1,500 youth and their families by providing academic support, spiritual formation, character and leadership development, service opportunities, summer programs, and parent engagement.

www.carolinapregnancycenter.orgThe Carolina Pregnancy Center exists to provide abortion alternatives, abstinence education, and post-abortion support with the hope of transforming lives through the grace of Jesus Christ. Carmen ObiAs a campus missionary in Greenville, North Carolina, Carmen has the privilege of helping students discover and grow in the love of God as they search for their identity and purpose. At Every Nation, our aim is to disciple these future leaders so they are intimately familiar with the Gospel that they are radically changed and empowered to share it with others.

Praises• Four students have given their lives to Jesus spring semester 2020• The Annual Spring Conference in which 50+ students attended;

6 made a public declaration of their faith through baptism and 4 students answered the call to full-time ministry.

• Students sharing their faith with friends, evangelizing on campus in an intentional manner.

Prayers• Students who confessed, at the Spring Conference, they are having

issues with alcohol /substance abuse and suicidal ideations. Pray they are open and receptive to receiving help from God,

• Health care professionals and our church community. • Wisdom for the ENC sta! to love and support these students

through their journeys of healing as well as protection from any spiritual warfare the sta! may experience as they deal with these di"cult issues.

• Carmen’s sister, Faith, who has experienced trauma in her life and is harboring bitterness toward God. Pray for the Lord to open her eyes to see she needs Jesus and will begin to share the gospel.

INTERNATIONAL MISSIONARIES

G & SG & S live and serve in the Middle East/North Africa (MENA). *Because they live in a secure location, we have chosen to withhold their last name, exact location, and picture.

Praises • one year Visa renewals for G & S. Many people have been “invited” to

leave by the secret police or not renewing the visas! • G attended an internal leadership gathering that generated tangible

opportunities for them in the Middle East and North Africa• The first worker to o!cially join them from Central Asia to work in the

ministry. A second person is in the membership process!

Prayers • The fear of the Coronavirus to abate as travel is becoming more

di!cult. G was unable to fly to another country due to risk of being quarantined by the local government.

• Lord of Harvest to send laborers in the harvest fields because the harvest is ripe. Many people in this area are having visions and dreams and are beginning to question their current belief system. Many cab and uber drivers are followers of Jesus have no one to fellowship with. May God open doors for these drivers to share the gospel.

• Growing relationships with local friends that G and S do life with and are now asking key questions about faith. There are 9 friends who are witnessing the love of Christ through G and S. May the Holy Spirit open their hearts to accept the one true God.

David WallDavid is the Area Director of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) in Eastern North Carolina. He supports and leads huddles (Bible studies for student athletes) as well as equips and trains coaches and huddle leaders.

Praises • We want to thank God for a Great FCA Middle School Winter

Retreat. We had close to 50 students respond to the gospel for the first time or make a recommitment to Christ.

Prayers• We really want to pray that our Middle School, High School, and

College huddles end the school year strong as the school year wraps up over the next several months and that God will continue to introduce FCA to new volunteers for our huddles.

• We really want to lift up our summer camps. We hope that each one of them provide life changing experiences for our students ant that we will have lots of students from our area that decided to attend one or more of our camps.

INTERNATIONAL MISSIONARIES Central Asia

J & JJ & J and their family live in Central Asia. They are working to build and grow a business through which they will care for their employees and be a witness in their interactions with clients and manufacturers. *Because they live in a secure location, we have chosen to withhold their last name, exact location, and picture.

Praises• A lost sister, Samantha, who returned to the faith and their

fellowship• Revealing Himself to a co-worker through more than 50 dreams in

the past year. In the dreams Jesus’s arms are outstretched saying “I need you”

• Growing friendships within the neighborhood of women.

Prayers• The co-worker who has experienced dreams of Jesus will come to

know and follow Jesus. • The missionaries’ business will grow enough to hire employees so

he can create a gospel-centered culture for people to see and hear about Jesus in the workplace.

• Opportunities to share Christ in the neighborhood and for people to see the di!erences in the missionaries lives thus giving them a desire to know Christ as well.

Wade & Sharon CoxWade and Sharon serve with Mercy Ships in Texas. This international ministry builds and sta!s ships equipped to provide medical service internationally to under-served populations. Both Wade and Sharon teach in training programs designed to prepare those who are following God’s call to serve with Mercy Ships. Wade’s role as Chaplain allows him to assist the sta! in their spiritual growth; Sharon’s role as Medical Reviewer allows her to serve by ensuring that the future crew is as healthy as it can be.

Praises• Completed training for the Onboarding Participants and will be

sending them to the new ship Global Mercy in Senegal, West Africa

• Cox children are doing well in school and life

• Our 100,000 surgeries taking place in Mercy Ships

Prayers • Our daughter, Brooke, as she nears graduation from college, our

son Bryant who is completing his senior year in High School and our special needs daughter, Brianne, who continues to flourish in the Dayhab program.

• Construction to finish on schedule for the new ship Global Mercy in September 2020

• God to divinely end the Coronavirus impact around the world soon

INTERNATIONAL MISSIONARIES

Richard & Amanda Coleman TMS Global - EthiopiaRichard and his family moved to Ethiopia in early 2018 to work with TMS Global in Addis Ababa. He has worked with TMS, mobilizing missionaries for over eleven years and in 2017 the Lord called him and his family to serve in Ethiopia long-term. Richard continues to equip and mobilize African believers to serve as missionaries in response tot he Lord’s call on their lives.

Praises• The new job the missionary started at EvaSUE after a long wait without

work.

• Baby #5 has arrived safe and sound and the family are adjusting to home schooling and the everyday busyness of daily life and ministry.

• Discipling unbelievers who cross the path of these missionaries.

Prayers• Ability to avoid “workaholism” in a culture that demands a lot of work.

• Planning to develop a “low ropes activities” to the ministry to aid in tribal conflicts, leadership development and recreation.

• Thirteen widows and former prostitutes will be starting new businesses with grant money awarded through the ministry. These ladies live in the Tigray region and only 0.01% are born again. Pray for their success and not be opposed by the Orthodox opposition.

• The resources to purchase bibles and books to give away in the region of Tigray and the people will be receptive of the books.

NATIONAL MISSIONARIES

Matthew LilleyMatthew serves as the National Director for Burn 24-7, an organization which seeks to grow and maintain “Burn furnaces” where local communities are unifying around the presence of God for extended hours of worship and prayer at least once a month. He and his family live in Raleigh, NC.

Praises • 70 Burn 24-7 furnaces (communities) around America regularly

hosting extended gatherings of united worship & prayers. Many people are experiencing God’s presence, being healed and being launched into missions.

• The Presence Pioneers podcast that is helping equip and encourage hundreds of prayer leaders in multiple nations with Bible teachings and interviews.

• Matthew as he steps into the role of Co-Director of the Leadership Network with the ministry of Awaken the Dawn, which has seen hundreds of tent gatherings around America.

Prayers• Us as we organize six regional gatherings around the USA in 2020,

which will include an equipping/relational summit for prayer leaders in that region. Pray for the Church in each region to be equipped to support the work of the ministry. (Ephesians 4:12)

• The Lilley family as they relocate back to eastern NC in the late spring or early summer. Pray for the house to sell quickly and for a smooth transition. Pray that “the God of hope would fill us with all joy and peace” (Romans 15:13)

• An intense season of focused traveling ministry from June to October 2020, as they visit many prayer & worship communities around America. Pray “that the word of the Lord may run swiftly and be glorified: (2 Thessalonians 3:1)

INTERNATIONAL MISSIONARIES Lebanon

Isaac BastaIsaac serves at the founder and leader of the Holy Spirit School in Tyre Lebanon. This school has about 50 children from K-5th grade.

Praises• 15 people who were baptized in church all were from a Muslim

background; 4 have children attending the school

• 2 couples who have joined the worship service and are helping in the school

• His faithfulness for providing for the ministry needs, the school and Isaac’s family

Prayers• More changes in the children’s life and a deeper relationship with

Jesus• More of God’s work among the local people in the area they live• Land in south to build a house of prayer, a school and a ministry

INTERNATIONAL MISSIONARIES

Isidro & Lucy MejiaIn 1998, Hurricane George brought catastrophic damage to the DR, forcing most of La Romana’s poorest people to higher ground. This dramatic shift in people became what is now known as Barrio George. Isidro and Lucy lead a church in the Barrio as well as a ministry center out of which sports ministry, medical ministry, and other outreaches take place. Covenant has partnered with the Mejias since 2005.

Praises• My American family.

Dominican RepublicINTERNATIONAL MISSIONARIES Ethiopia

Caroline DouglasBingham Academy in Ethiopia

Caroline grew up in Greenville and attended Covenant Church. She is in her second year at Bingham Academy as a Math teacher and volleyball coach. Bingham Academy is a residential school for children of missionaries. She works with middle and high school students, many of whom are Christians but many of whom are not. As with many American schools in international locations, the school becomes a place for children of government o!cials or other non-Christian cross-cultural workers to attend. Caroline has had opportunities to lead Bible studies with 10th grade girls and share the gospel with some students who are not Christians.

Praises• Children’s outreach during carnival season that allowed for

unchurched neighborhood children to hear the gospel

• 2 young Greek girls Eve discipled for the past 2 years, are now discipling 2 younger teens themselves. What a joy for Eve to walk alongside them as them start making disciples.

• Opening doors and opportunities for more home visits that has allowed Eve to minister to families in a more holistic way.

Prayers• Resuming the Playground Outreach as spring arrives and for fruitful

conversations with parents and showing Christ to the community through games and activities.

• New Refugee Guest House and guidance choosing a family to take from the refugee camp and house with love through the guest house.

• 3 “discipleships pods” that have recently started. Eve asked for God to use her to mentor women and girls in their faith and that He might use their time together in the Word to draw them to Him.

Stephan & Mary CalhounStephan and Mary are originally from the United States and work with Hellenic Ministries in Greece. Stephan has been leading the Operation Joshua planning team (Operation Joshua is the outreach Covenant partners with most summers to distribute modern Greek New Testaments across Greece). Stephen recently transitioned out of that role and into a new role developing communities of faith in the villages that have received New Testaments.

Praises • A time of renewal and refreshment while being back in the USA• The insights God is giving them into their ministry in Greece

Prayers• The remaining time on home assignment in the USA to be

productive, allowing them to balance their need for rest and renewal with their desire to connect with each of their valued ministry partners

• The Calhoun children as they travel from their native Greek home back to US English-based language and education. They will again have to adjust going back to Greece and reunite with friends they now miss a great deal.

Greece INTERNATIONAL MISSIONARIESEthiopia

Ermias & Tez AbayErmias and Tez disciple and equip Muslim Background Believers in Ethiopia to evangelize, disciple, and lead house churches, through New Life Faith Ministries. As native Ethiopians, Ermias and Tez are able to communicate the gospel to other Ethiopians without crossing cultures; they are witnessing the miraculous movement of the Holy Spirit to bring people to Christ.

Praises• Ability to train 41 people in practical methods of how to go out and

reach the neighboring villages.

• Helping the trainees put into practice what they learned about sharing Jesus, praying for the sick, and casting out demons. As a result, they had 29 Muslims baptized and 6 houses of fellowship established.

• The openness of the people in this new area.

Prayers• New training in three di!erent places: Kokosa, Chefe Jila and Ziway

(all in SW Ethiopia).• Resources to train and send out at least another 120 people once

they find the right location and raise the necessary funds. • Shagena, a team member, who is to be married in April 2020.

Prayers requested to help increase the scope and e!ectiveness of his work after the marriage.

Praises• Praise the Lord for continually giving us the strength that we need to

• Praise the Lord for our brother Philip who came from USA to support our ministry for a long period of time. He knows Arabic and is very helpful in many ways.

• Praise the Lord for a bigger team of worship leaders that we meet and practice together for Sunday service.

Prayers• Pray for the refugees who come and hear the gospel weekly. God to

open their hearts.

• Pray for protection as the corona virus epidemic has taken place.
