The last few months of every year represent a time to give at SoFi Stadium and Hollywood Park. This year, the Community Engagement Team was able to lean on staff members and trade partners heavily in the quest for toys for children of local families in Inglewood.

On December 19, 2019, SoFi Stadium and Hollywood Park staff collaborated with the Inglewood Police Department to host a Toy Giveaway at Edward Vincent Jr. Park Veterans’ Memorial Building. With a Turner AECOM-Hunt Joint Venture (THJV) project member or City of Inglewood volunteer by their side, children of all ages had the chance

to “shop around” for their toys of choice. Then they were treated to cookies, punch and hot chocolate with marshmallows. The festivities continued as Santa stopped by with his helper elves to spread some holiday cheer and pose for pictures.

Inglewood Mayor James Butts and California State Senator Stephen Bradford also attended. They wished everyone a happy holiday season and thanked the organizations that generously donated and helped make the event a success.

To top it off, NFL Hall of Famer/former Ram Rosey Grier along with former Ram Harold Jackson came by to sign autographs and take pictures with the children as well as the star-struck adults who remembered when these legends were on the field. The giveaway lasted late into the evening, giving parents who got off work late a chance to swing by with their kids and enjoy some holiday fun. It was a heartwarming experience that gave all the participating organizations an incomparable opportunity to become engaged and involved with the Inglewood community.
