OUR INTEREST IN CCIC To consolidate the currently innovation actions that Sabadell is carrying out.

(As a facilitator, putting together all the stakeholders participating in the innovation chain:administration-industry-research centres-universities and civil society)

To determinate the role of the public sector regarding the innovation. (Promoting innovation and being innovative ourselves)

To share our own experience in the innovation field and to learn how other regions work towards this topic in order to implement their strategies adapting them in our territory

Our strengths in the thematic fields1. Innovative financial instruments

As a public company, Promoció Econòmica works in a different way from a municipality council as it is a more flexible entity

2. Public procurement and innovation

We intend to identify the needs of the innovation drivers, encouraging them to find innovative solutions provided by the business sector of our territory. Ie health cluster

3. Publicly-owned enterprises and innovation

Promoció Econòmica aims to promote the innovation in its territory. Being a publicly owned company allows us to work in a closer way to the business sector and facilitate the innovation process achieving concrete projects

4. Civil society inclusion in public innovation

Feedback arising from the users of our services is used as a value source in order to improve our work procedures

We still having a lack of financial sustainibility in the projects initiated and supported by our entity.

It is needed to introduce more innovation clauses in the public procurement processes

To achieve a better positioning towards the public sector (innovative, flexible, closer entity vs old, slow, burocratic)

4. Civil society inclusion in public innovation

To engage the civil society to the decision making processes
