Product rangeKonecranes offers industrial cranes for loads of up to 80 tons that meet the material-handling needs of workshops and equipment maintenance. Modern speed controls also make these cranes suitable for installing generators and turbines. Explosion-proof cranes complying with ATEX area classifications are available for hazardous environments. Our SpaceMaker crane series is available for loads up to 500 t as standard on a single hook, providing the ideal solution for even the most demanding installation and maintenance of power plant equipment.

Our engineered cranes – capable of up to 1,000 tons or 2,000 tons in tandem operation – serve the special needs of the power industry.

Lifetime valueWe at Konecranes have always been committed to supplying our customers with lifting equipment that excels in performance, reliability and safety. Another guiding principle in our crane design is total investment cost. Optimized crane design for a new installation can achieve considerable savings in building costs. In modernization or replacement projects, as well, minimizing the weight of the lifting equipment can increase crane capacity.

Lower building costsAdvanced technology allows us to make cranes that are lighter and smaller in size while still achieving the same high performance. More compact building structures and reduced ceiling height both reduce construction and maintenance costs. In a nutshell, using Konecranes’ equipment cuts building costs.

High availabilityEvery crane is designed to meet the specific needs of each application, allowing customers to concentrate exclusively on their core business. Konecranes can customize and optimize material-handling solutions by using in-house components that are in serial production. Reliable, proven technology combined with experience from thousands of references means trouble-free operation of equipment. Crane downtime is limited to the scheduled maintenance. By including Konecranes’ maintenance services in the scope of a lifting equipment delivery, an even better equipment lifetime is achievable. Our serial production and global crane-manufacturing networks are the key elements in the competitive delivery times for cranes – and our AFTER SALES support is key for crane operation and spare parts.

Protection for valuable loadsThere is no margin for positioning errors when installing heavy turbines and generators in a power plant. Konecranes’ hoist design and electrical equipment, like the DynA family of stepless speed controls, provide a responsive operator-crane interface that gives the utmost accuracy and correct speed for every lift.

Innovative solutionsKonecranes has developed a wide range of innovative solutions for achieving higher performance and better safety.

Extended Speed Range (ESR) is valuable for solutions involving high lifting heights. When the load is 20% of the nominal capacity of the hoisting machinery, a hoisting speed of up to 200% higher than nominal can be set. In the best case, this option eliminates the need to invest in an additional auxiliary hoist.

Runtime data ControlPro – in addition to functioning as overload control – is a device for calculating the lifetime of machinery units in accordance with FEM 9.755. The monitoring of machinery performance offered by ControlPro allows the customer to schedule preventive maintenance.

Sway controlDynAPilot is a crane load-control system that automatically prevents load sway caused by crane travel motions. For the customer, that means improved safety, longer equipment lifetime, less damage when handling material, and an easy-to-operate crane.

Synchronized togetherCranes operating in tandem must synchronize their movements. The load-handling technology functions like sway control, protected areas, and target positioning raise operational safety to a new level. For the ultimate in monitoring hoist speeds between two hooks, closed-loop controls keep the lifting beam balanced. An interlocking radio control system with a catch-and-release feature is also available.
