A Stewardship Thought …
“Because there is one bread, we who are many are one body, for we all partake of the one bread.” 1 CORINTHIANS 10:17 As disciples of Jesus, we are called to lead holy lives and invite others to join us. Living a stewardship lifestyle, being grateful and generous with our gifts, serves a twofold purpose. One, it helps build God’s kingdom here on earth. Two, it is a road map to Heaven. Let’s help each other get there!
This Weekend’s Scripture First Reading: Deuteronomy 8:2-3, 14b-16a Moses reminds the Israelites that when they were starving in the desert, the Lord fed them with “manna” , a food not known to them.
Second Reading: 1 Corinthians 10:16-17 Paul points out to the Corinthians that through the sharing of the cup and the breaking of the bread, they are all one in Christ Jesus.
Gospel: John 6:51-58 After Jesus feeds the five thousand people with barley loaves and fishes, he tries to make them understand the significance and the meaning of what he has done. He tells them, in mysterious and beautiful words, that the bread he gives is his flesh and says, “I myself am the living bread... If anyone eats this bread, he shall live forever.” ©1999 Bon Venture Services, Inc.

News from the Society of St. Vincent de Paul Blessed is he who is kind to the needy."
Proverbs 14:21
Our next general meeting will be this Mon. June 19th at 7:30 in MDH. It’s our summer party and our last Gen-eral Meeting until September. All members are en-couraged to attend. Please consider bringing snacks or drinks. Newcomers are always welcome! If you’ve ever considered becoming actively involved with help-ing those in need within our community, this is the per-fect time to start and to meet everyone.
Our Lord said; “As you have done for the least of my brethren, you have done unto me.” This is the basis for all we do at the Society of St. Vincent de Paul. We invite you to share in our mission. If you or someone you know is in need of assistance please contact us through the parish office. In the past we’ve helped people with rent, utility, groceries, medicines, special dietary requirements and many other needs. No work of charity is foreign to our society. In the name of Christ we are here to help and to serve. Please put us to work.
Food pantry: Non-perishable donations can be left in the church lobby after any mass. At the moment we need canned or packaged fruit, toiletry items such as soap, shampoo, bathroom tissue , and canned pastas such as Chef Boyardee, instant mac & cheese, pasta sauces.
