Located at 2205 Second street in Faubourg Livaudais (liv-a-day), a neighborhood within Uptown New Orleans, Livaudais Hall, was once the home of St Francis De Sales Catholic Church. The church was founded in New Orleans in 1867, only 2 years after the end of the civil war.

The building was originally constructed in 1875, with the bell tower added in 1888. The bell tower used to contain another story higher, but was severely damaged in a hurricane in the early 20th century. The other buildings on the grounds were built in the late 1890’s

St Francis De Sales operated at Livaudais Hall from 1875 until 2008, when it was de-consecrated by the Church and sold to a non-profit for redevelopment into a cultural center. Unfortunately, the new owner did not have the funds to restore the property and it was left to decay and become blighted.

In 2017 the property was sold to a local developer, Peter Gardner, and the entire property restored. The historic convent and rectory were converted to housing while the main sanctuary was modernized and restored, and ready to serve the community for the next 100 years.

OUR SPACES

THE SANCTUARY The former church, just over 4000 SF, is perfect for wedding ceremonies and receptions seating up to 200 guests. The choir loft provides a stunning vantage point for your photographer or the perfect spot for reception bonuses like a tarot card reader or photobooth. BRICK PATIO An outdoor space well suited for cocktail hours, ceremonies, or seated dinners. Most couples host a cocktail hour here while the sanctuary is flipped from ceremony to reception. Over 2500 SF.

ANNEX At over 650 square feet, this space works well for overflow for larger events both in the courtyard or the sanctuary. It can also function as a rain plan cocktail hour, in lieu of renting a tent. There are additional bathrooms in this space.

THE GROTTO A tiny space for intimate ceremonies, couples portraits, or a specialty bar.

PREP SUITE (1ST FLOOR)

Exit onto the stage or into the court-yard from our first floor suite. This room will be furnished. We also have a second prep room connected to the choir loft. The second floor room is only accessible by the spiral staircase.

LAWNOur front lawn serves as an excellent additional space for larger events.

> The retainer to reserve the space will be 40% of your total rental fee

> Outdoor music must end by 10pm on Fridays and Saturdays and 9pm on weekdays

> All events must end completely by 11pm on Fridays and Saturdays and 10pm on weekdays, with all vendors loaded out by midnight or 11pm respectively

> Outside, amplified music must remain below 85 decibels

> Outside, a maximum of three musicians are allowed

> All candles must be encased in glass
