阶段 1Stage One

通过对一个人和另外一个或一群人的关系的讨论，这个模型是关于两个空间的交叉，以及带来的共享的区域所产生的张力。灵感来源于马格利特的岩石悬浮于海面上的绘画。

模型由两部分组成：楼梯间和立方体，楼梯间插入立方体中，楼梯井由楼梯围成，楼梯封闭，光可以通过楼梯井照进立方体，人可以停留在位于楼梯间最高点的休息平台，可以观看到楼梯井，天空和一部分的立方体。楼梯间的入口在立方体之外。

立方体也有独立的入口，可以容纳很多人自由的行动，立方体是封闭的，四面有一些设计的小开口带来柔和的非直射的光照。但通过楼梯井照入地面的光则非常强烈。

当有人行走于立方体的地面，短暂的穿过楼梯间下面，也会有人短暂停留于楼梯间的平台，当这一个短暂的时刻发生，足够幸运，他们或许会产生对望，但大部分时候会错过，这形成了一个强烈的舞台（stage）。

一把椅子被放置于立方体的角落，这里黑暗，靠墙，可以非常安全的观看立方体内所有事情的发生。

This model is about a shared space, and relationship between one person and others. My inspiration is a picture depicting a heavy giant rock suspend above the sea. A strong tension created here. I can see a movement because of gravity, and the materially, solid against soft.

This model composed from two part, one is a staircase another is a cube. The staircase insert into the cube, a courtyard (a well) is the core of this staircase, the enter and exit is outside the cube, circulation is along the stairs and surround the core. The core connects sky and light will be lead in the cube through it. At the highest point, one can stand on the small balcony and look through the well into the cube.

And the entrance of the cube is in the corner, people could walking freely inside of big cube, some opening let soft light into the cube, and a strong light pass through the staircase core reach the floor.

VIEWPOINT A VIEWPOINT B VIEWPOINT CWhen people in cube walking under the core, and people in staircase standing on the small balcony, both of them are very short moment compare to the whole journey, but this moment create a strong stage to me.

A chair is placed on the corner far from the entrance, this is a very safe place, it’s dark, beside the wall, could easily notice the openings, the door and the people, the best place to watch something happen over there.



阶段 2Stage Two

在这个模型中仍然关注一个空间和另一个空间如何互相理解，影响，回应，相对上一个空间定义非常明确的模型，这次会放弃一些明确，而多一些模糊。

首先营造一个均质的空间，模拟一种贫民窟的状态，基于多个小立方体，一定程度的炸开并移动，形成新的空间，保留了一定的立方体的特征（有核心，并形成走廊），但内外变得模糊，趋于融合的状态。

另一个空间放置在上一层，由多个立方体的矩阵形成的网格空间，但通过立方体上的开口，网格空间和下层的均质空间产生了互动。

The previous model show a particular space intrude into another space, the tension was created by the person standing at one point, seeking, meeting or waiting for other people in another space. And there is a particular point of one space confront another space. The movement of people and the interlocked space are interesting. And then the controlled light have the capacity to define or strengthen the space.

In the previous model I found it is quite hard to make some changes because the space and movements are too specific. This time I still focus on one space intrude another, and how they understand, affect or respond each other. Try not to control too strict.

First I made a homogeneous space, it’s imitate some type of urban situation, it is based on squares, but exploded and shift a little bit, the new space keep some qualities of cube, still could find some central spaces and corridor spaces, but blurred in and out, the squares merge together but still keep independent to a certain degree. This space is underground with an entrance.

I found it’s hard to decide where to enter this space or where to break it. Another space have been put on the top of it, it is a grid type space created by small cubes, there are different openings make the grid space participate into underground space, there are light and sight line goes through there openings. This space has an independent entrance too.

A big roof was created to control the light and space, it goes through two cubes spaces reach underground floor, then reflect again to ground floor through openings. The light affects the balance of homogeneous space.



阶段 3Stage Three

延续上一个模型，起初先放置墙来产生均质的空间，四个立方体（没有顶面和底面）立于均质空间之上，四个立方体之间产生了“田”形空间，田字空间上下四周都有围和，田字空间可以认为是内部空间。底部空间及相连的四个立方体内部与天空相连，可以被视为外部空间（园林部分）

如同上一个模型，光线照入立方体，照入均质空间，同时通过开口照入田字空间。通过桥梁，楼梯或平台，田字（室内）空间延伸至立方体及均质空间内（园林）；通过一组连续的楼梯（廊），园林空间也延展到室内空间，相互交错，互相渗透。但两个空间并不连通，无法互相到达。

This model is develop from last one, which is about one space intrude another, and how they understand, affect or respond to each other.

First, walls are placed on the underground level, the irregular shape create a homogeneous space. Then, four cubes without upside and underside are placed on the top of these irregular walls, the underground walls served as base structure. the regular ‘ 田 ’ shape space in between of four cubes could be regard as rooms of architecture, the underground space and the spaces inside of cubes could be regard as garden spaces.

As previous model, there are opening on the cubes walls and bridges could go through cubes. The light could reach underside level through four cubes, and light could reach ‘ 田 ’ shape space as well. There is also a stair goes up from garden space, pass through room and arrive on the top of cube space. Compare to the last one, this model is controlled more strict.

The garden space and room space are interlocked together, spaces infiltrate into each other. The model has caught the discussion of the identity of the garden and room. And the relationship between them.



阶段 4Stage Four

继续发展的模型，由大量的不规则墙体组成均质底层空间，同时作为支撑结构，这些木质结构表现出了水平延展的趋势。在上面一层由一个立方体分割出的五个空间，四个 L 形空间和一个方形空间。四条路径由中心空间伸展出，分隔 L 形空间。L 形空间通过楼梯，桥，墙上的开口互相联系，桥飞过四条路径，楼梯也不足以延续到地面。一个四角锥体位于中央方形空间顶部，透过顶部开口开向天空。

木质底层结构和没能落地的楼梯形成了一个等待的状态，等待水平面，地平面的上升；路径预示着人的到来，水平的路过平坦的地面，分布的木结构，L 形的空间，到达中心的空间，视线被导入空中，没有任何机理，无法感知空间深远，视线停留在空中的某一处。这一刻天空是荒芜的，大地是水平延展的。

The final model has a large number of irregular walls on the ground level compared to previous one, these walls created homogeneous space and served as base structure as well. These wood structure shows a horizontal extending capacity when put them on the flat ground.

On the upper level there are five spaces divided from one large cube. Four L shape spaces surrounding one square space. Four footpaths connect Middle space to the outside and separate L shape spaces. Opening on the wall of L shape spaces connecting inside and outside. Stairs and bridges are available in the L shape spaces, connecting the lower spaces and each others. Bridges are fly crossing footpaths, and the stairs cannot reach ground level. A big tall roof with an opening to the sky are placed on the top of Middle space.

The wood structure and L shape spaces including stairs and bridges are regarded as garden. The middle space with roof consider is regarded as a room.

The surrounding context is a flat landscape goes into water fronts gently. The wood structure and stairs are waiting for the rise of water. Then the stairs could reach new ‘ground level’.

Man from one side of pathway, walking horizontally through flat ground, the spreading wood structure, the horizontal water level, stop in the center room, sight is directed to the sky vertically through top opening, without any texture or feeling of distance, the eye sight just stop in the sky. The sky is desert, the ground is spreading, the structure is supported by the ground and under the sky.

场地思考 Site&volume Study

场地位于私家花园和公园之间，仅有一处入口，设计意图是使建筑对于周边的环境开敞，但保持独立的体块。建筑由两个体量组成，位于道路入口处的是公共区域，包含前台和餐厅，通过庭院，到达的是客房区，共有17 间客房，如图解所示，这些客房的体块被设计成互相交错，使得它们的空间体验均有所不同，这样的组合也产生了一些体量各异的室外空间，可以作为公共或私人的阳台。

The building consists of two volumes connected through a yard. The common area including reception and café bar located close to main street. The part that is set back from the main street has three stories, there is a total of 17 rooms with 7 different types, most of them is different from another. As the diagram showed, these rooms interlocked together constitute a geometrical volume. The idea is that the hotel located in between of a private garden and a park, the building with Geometrical volume but open to surroundings, by this way, different type of rooms create different spaces and experiences, the relation through room to room and inside to outside are various. The combination of rooms also create void spaces, also arranged in different forms vary in height, width, close or open. Some of them used as private terrace, some for common use. This experience come from the experience of walking in mountain. The common area vary in height and size, provide different type of activities and spaces. After enter the hotel, first meet the reception building (public), the upstairs is a café. Guests walking to rooms by outdoor stairs and outside passage. The passage directs to the garden at the end of the site area, closed by walls create a quite space, working as a respond to the surrounding buildings in volumetric way.
