Oh, by the way…
"The Gospel of Jesus Christ prescribes the wisest rules for just
conduct in every situation of life. Happy they who are enabled
to obey them in all situations!....My only hope of salvation is in
the infinite transcendent love of God manifested to the world
by the death of His Son upon the Cross. Nothing but His blood
will wash away
my sins." - Benjamin Rush* (signer of the Declaration of Independence)
*Founding Father of the United States: Rush was a civic leader in Philadelphia, where he was a
physician, politician, social reformer, humanitarian, educator and the founder of Dickinson
College. DOB: 24 December 1745; death 19 April 1813.
"It is necessary for the welfare of the nation that men's lives be based on the principles of the Bible. No man, educated or uneducated, can afford to be ignorant of
the Bible." - Theodore Roosevelt
Every Independence Day, therefore, must also be a celebration of the
spirit and demands of interdependence. It is what Christian
discipleship is!
Two (2) thoughts for your reflections sourced from dictionaries:
Independence: not influenced or controlled by others in matters of opinion, conduct. Free
from outside control; not subject to another's authority
Interdependence: the state of being dependent upon one another: mutual
dependence
As the Scriptures say: Our citizenship is in heaven and from it, we also await a savior, the
Lord Jesus Christ. Weather permitting; our Cluster Holiday Liturgy will celebrate our freedom
Wednesday at 9:00 a.m. in St. Peter Cemetery. Bring your lawn chairs, blankets, etc. In case of
inclement weather, Eucharist will be celebrated in St. Peter Church.
Marita R. Grisel CPA was one of many sponsors during the recent Junior Achievement
Golf outing. Rick Grisel (no nepotism!) won the Longest Drive Award seen here
displaying his plaque for his fellow teammates.
The Business Office will be CLOSED
this coming week for the holiday.

Meanwhile, back at the ranch….fr. K
Quick one-liners for you: ◼1 July marks five (5) years since being named Pastor of this Cluster. Where has
the time gone? I would like to reiterate a basic statement from way when: One
needs to consult the bulletin weekly for where and when Masses will be
celebrated. Need to add another: deadlines are deadlines (I’m German!).
◼Have a safe 4th so you may enjoy your fifth!
◼St. Peter’s will have adoration for First Friday this coming Friday, July 6th.
