Beginning in September, Sound Publishing Inc. will combine the strength of its community newspaper readership and home delivery with the respected classified content and brand recognition of its Little Nickel products. Little Nickel's advertising will be delivered with-in the pages of Sound Publishing's community newspaper products. "Our Nickel advertising clients will certainly see the benefit of having their advertising message delivered directly to homes. And our readers will no longer have to remember to pick up a Little Nickel at a rack. �is change just makes sense," said Gloria Fletcher, Sound Publishing President. Little Nickel rack dis-tribution will be eliminated.

Sound Publishing has established five zones in King, Snohomish and Kitsap counties to give people a wide range of options for their advertising. Each zone has a circulation between 50,000 and 80,000. Advertisers will be able to place ads in any or all zones and/or in individual Sound Publishing newspapers.

As part of the business change, the Little Nickel o�ces in Everett, Tacoma and Portland will be closed. Many Little Nickel employees will be retained and will move into other Sound Publishing o�ces throughout the Puget Sound area.

Make your house look like a ‘million dollar listing’ for less(BPT) - A new report reveals houses are selling faster and for more money, yet another indica-tor of a rebounding housing market. According to the National Association of Realtors, full-year sales of previously owned homes increased by 9 percent in 2012 over the previous year. Plus, home prices jumped up 12.3 percent, the biggest percentage gain since January 2005. -

This will challenge sellers to sharpen their com-petitive edge as more homeowners, encouraged by promising indicators, put their house on the market. Josh Altman, one of the top 10 realtors in the country and star of Bravo’s hit TV show “Million Dollar Listing: L.A.,” shares three strategies for making houses more desirable to buyers.

Install hardwood �oors

“Installing hardwood �oors is one of the smart-est investments a seller can make,” said Altman. “Hardwood �ooring is easy to install, never goes out of style and is extremely desirable to homebuyers.”

Countless hardwood �ooring options, including popular bamboo varieties, allow homeowners to easily select a �oor that looks great and �ts within their budget. Homeowners can even dif-

ferentiate their �oors - and houses - by transfer-ring the �ooring’s warranty to the new owner. For example, Lumber Liquidators’ Bellawood brand of pre�nished hardwood �ooring offers a certi�ed 100-year transferable warranty.

Remodeling a kitchen can bring a home to the top market value, and you don’t have to tear down walls or break the bank to do it. “No matter what budget a homeowner has, there are simple ways to add that wow factor to a kitch-en,” said Altman.

Unique, stylish light �xtures can create a warm and inviting environment, while new appli-ances add visual interest and help increase the value of a home. Even subtle touches like updating cabinet hardware or installing a tile backsplash behind a stove can give a kitchen the facelift it needs.
