Emerge Miami

We work to make Shenandoah the best neighborhood it can be, and meet monthly at the Shenandoah Community Ctr in Shenandoah Park next to the library. We foster connections between residents & members; businesses & local merchants; our City and County officials; external resources & information that may benefit our neighborhood.
17th Avenue Safety and Beautification Project: After several years of pushing, we have finally realized our goal: Construction on SW 17th Ave. starts Fall 2013 — we soon will have a safer and more attractive road, a benefit to all drivers and residents!
A Historic Shenandoah: We are currently working with the City’s Historic Preservation office to maximize this valuable history.
No Mr. Mayor, the "Age of the Library is Probably *NOT* Ending”: When County Mayor Carlos Gimenez announced that they would have to close 22 libraries, MSNA was one of the many vocal leaders in the opposition, demanding the County 'try harder' to solve the problem. The result? Shenandoah library was one of the first venues to be removed from the kill list. Others soon followed.

Networking Tips
There are many other great organizations and agencies represented here tonight, plus elected officials! Meet neighbors and others who CARE about Little Havana. Our tips: LISTEN, don’t just talk. Let’s not just focus on PROBLEMS, but also on
POSSIBILITIES. What’s WORKING and how can we make it BETTER … and EXPAND THE IMPACT?
What are SHARED issues of concern, and how can we COLLABORATE/WORK TOGETHER?
Are there issues/topics that people care about, but where we see no ACTION? Ideas?
TOGETHER, WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE.
