The Indecisive Rose

The red petals of that rose,

Are all that I want to see.

Cause without that simple rose, I live a life of misery.

Nothing in all the space,

Puts a smile on my face,

As much as when the wins blows,

Through the pedals of an indecisive rose.

The image of the rose, is something that we all can see,

It’s beauty resembles an angle from above.

On that tiny little rose, in all of it’s beauty,

Is a symbol one’s true and only love.

Nothing in all of space

Puts a smile on my face,

As much as when the wind blows,

Through the pedals of an indecisive rose.

And when my skin is torn, by all the thorns,

It’s hard to reach the care.

But even though I bleed, if I succeed,

I could ask for nothing more.

Nothing in all of space,

Puts a smile on my face,

As much as when the wind blows,

Through the pedals of that indecisive rose.

My Own “ Earth Only”

To Students: A Sonnet

Lingering in the hallways to the bell, Names ne’er written atop your assignment.

Then to read simple words thou cans’t not spell,

Sentences that runneth on, I am spent!

Classes fill’d with distracted chatter. Trash heaps left upon mine floors and table.

When a colleague asks, “What is the matter?”

I shake mine head, tis all I am able.

Tasks ignored and thy duties abandoned. Grades that earn the alphabet’s second vowel.

Late work? You hath not a leg to stand on!

Alas, thine interims shall make you howl!

Mine wish is that thou see’st graduation,

And these foul habits meet their cessation.

Wind By: Vashit Burman

I am the wind. I flow freely with the breeze I love to sing as I whistle through the tees. One day I hope to travel far, like the wind around the globe. A fast moving current from Baltimore to Britain and from Britain to Italy. From Italy to France, and from France to Australia. I’ll keep moving, a never ending breeze, I’ll always keep moving and do as I please

Forest Forever By: Anonymous

Today it happened again: I had the urge to go out into the forest. There is this small wood behind my house and sometimes I just want to go outside and relax when things get too hectic. It feels like a breath of fresh air be away from my computer, cell phone, T.V., and everything else. When I go into the woods I always see this deer that walks around in there. Whenever I try to get close she runs away but I don't blame her. She probably thinks I’m trying to hurt her. Sometimes I take my camera with me so I can take some pictures of what I see. I have a few pictures of the deer. She has small specks around her neck, one giant white spot on her leg, and her eyes are a beautiful shade of brown. I winder how many more animals live in this forest. I can hear the shuffling of many creatures but I se nothing. I try to draw what I can see or what I think is there, like a small family of foxes or rabbit hiding itself. Every time I go into the woods I feel like I’m in a different world altogether, a more beautiful world than the one we’re on right now. Then I think of all the pollution in out air and how we seem to be killing the earth. I want to so something to help sp the world will look like my forest, more beautiful.

Hate List Author: Jennifer Brown

Hate List is the debut novel by award-winning writer Jennifer Brown. In this

novel, Valerie Leftman must return to school five months after her boyfriend,

Nick, took a gun and shot their classmates, many of whom Valerie places on a

list she dubbed the hate list. Many of the kids and most of the adults think Val-

erie knew of Nick’s plot to kill the kids on the list despite the fact that Valerie

saved the life of one girl and was shot herself. Even the police thought Valerie

was responsible until an unnamed girl went to the police and insisted that Val-

erie never shot anyone. In Hate List, Valerie and everyone around her must

pick up the pieces after tragedy.

The MAZE RUNNER TRILOGY

The maze runner trilogy was captivating from start to finish. The

mastery surrounding the story in book one raises a sense of interest. The mys-

tery is coupled with betrayal in book two. The reader would believe that the

protagonist and allies have no hope; nothing to live for in the runner’s cruel

and twisted world. Unwavering, the group still continued on hoping it would

be a means to an end. When the trilogy comes to the final book the group

found paradise but peace never quite follow.
