The Mid-West Arts Council served

Strawberry Shortcake at the Valentine Tea on February 10th. The people were treated to an afternoon of musical entertainment

provided by Ken Smith. Ken had planned

his choice of selections and his commentary around the Valentine theme so all enjoyed the relaxing, "romantic music" played by a very talented saxophone player.

United Church Seeking Input

Hamiota United Church is looking for information from

its members and adherents as we prepare to find a new

minister when Barbara Rediker retires later this year.

A survey is available for pick up in the church entranceways,

or by email from [email protected] , or by calling

Karen at 764-2562.

Deadline for receipt of the survey is Sunday, March 20/11.

The X-Ray at the Hamiota Health Centre Laboratory has gone Digital!!!

The x-ray machine installed in 1991 will still take your x-rays as usual, however, the Computerized

Radiography Reader (CRR) provides the digital x-ray in two to five minutes. The radiologist in Brandon is

linked with the Hamiota computer. Our Doctors can now receive a report in 2 to 4 hours instead of 2 to 3 days.

Film X-rays are Gone!! If a hospital that is not computerized requests x-rays, they will be provided with a

Computer Disc.

Rosalie Beamish, Charge Technologist, Hamiota District Health Centre who is standing in front of our CRR

explains that we were 9th of the 12 hospitals that have been upgraded in our region. The remaining 9 labs,

such as Shoal Lake, will be computerized as soon as possible.

The doctors like this upgrade as it provides all existing computer features, for example, zoom in & out, etc.

Next time you get an x-ray your results will be on computer in minutes…….Welcome to the 21st Century !!
