He never imagined that he would have the important short-term goal of saving his younger brother’s life. Kyle was watching TV at his grandmother’s house when his sister came running up to him. She was too scared to speak, but she pointed outside the window at the covered swimming pool. When Kyle looked out he saw something move under the cover, and he jumped into action. He raced to the pool and pulled his baby brother from the water. At a Cub Scout meeting, Kyle had learned how to breathe air into another person’s lungs. He never imagined how scary it would be to use that skill, but he knew he had to overcome his fear to help his brother. Kyle met the challenge.
