Jiirgen Bock(born in 1962, lives in Lisboa , Portugal) isDirector of the School of Visual ArtsMaumaus in Lisboa and works as curator,publisher and writer. Exhibitions he hascurated include the CCB Project Room inLisbon 2000 /2001 , From: Limited LiabilityCompany at the 2005 Triennial of India , NewDelhi, and Angela Ferreira, Maison Tropicalefor the Portuguese Pavilion, Biennale diVenezia (2007). Juli Carsonis Associate Professor in the Studio ArtDepartment at the University of Californiawhere she teaches Critical and Curatorialpractice in Contemporary Art and directsthe University Art Gallery. She was Curatorof Exile of the Imaginary: Politics, Aesthetics,Love (Vienna: Generali Foundation, 2007) .She also curated the archival exhibitionaccompanying Mary Kelly's Post-PartumDocument (Vienna: Generali Foundation,1998). Her essays on conceptualism andpsychoanalysis have been published in ArtJournal, Documents, October, Texte zur Kunstand K-Tra, as well as in numerous criticalanthologies. She is currently completing herforthcoming book, The Conceptual Uncons­cious: A Poetics of Critique.

Alice Creischer(born in 1960, lives in Berlin, Germany)studied philosophy and literature at theuniversity and fine arts at theKunstakademie, both located in Diisseldorfand works as conceptual artist. From 1997till 1998 she was Guest Lecturer at theKunstakademie Miinchen. Since the 1990sshe participated in several group projects,many of them in collaboration with AndreasSiekmann, with whom she curated theexhibitions Violence on the Margin of AllThings (Vienna: Generali Foundation, 2002)and Ex-Argentina (Cologne: Ludwig Museum,2004) . In 2006 she was awarded by the

Norwegian Edward-Munch-Prize for Contem­porary Art . She published essays in Springe­rin, Texte zur Kunst and ANYP.

David Crowleystudied in Poland dur ing the 1980s anddeveloped a strong interest in the culturalhistory of Eastern Europe under communistrule . He teaches at the Royal College of Art,London, where he is also the head of a newdepartment of Critical Writing in Art andDesign. He writes art and design criticismand curates exhibitions. In 2008 he was theco-curator of Cold War Modern: Design 1945­1970 (London: Victoria and Albert Museum,2008 ; Rovereto: MART, 2009; Vilnius:National Gallery, 2009). He is currentlycurating an exhibition on the life and workof Roman Cieslewicz (London, 2010) andanother show on the connections of experi­mental art to music in Eastern Europe inthe 1960s (Warsaw: National Museum,summer, 2011).

T.J. Demosis an art critic and teaches in the Depart­ment of Art History, University CollegeLondon. He writes widely about modern andcontemporary art and is the author of TheExiles of Marcel Duchamp (2007). He isCo-curator of Uneven Geographies : Art andGlobalisation (Nottingham Contemporary,2010) and was Director of Zones of Conflict:Rethinking Contemporary Art During GlobalCrisis, comprising both an internationalgroup exhibition at Pratt Manhattan Galleryin New York,and a series of researchworkshops in London (in partnership withIniva, Tate Modern , Tate Britain, and UCL'sCentre for the Study of Contemporary Art,of which he is a founding member) . During2009-2010, he is a Fellow at the FlemishAcademic Centre for Science and the Arts(VLAC) in Brussels, working on a new bookon contemporary art and migration du ringglobal crisis.

Diedrich Diederichsen(born in 1957, lives in Berlin and Vienna) iscultural scientist, critic, journalist, curator,author, professor and pop theorist. From1985 till 1990 he was chief editor of themusic magazine Spex . From 1998 till 2006he was professor at the Merz Akademie inStuttgart. Additionally he was lecturer atmany other academic institutions. Since2006 he is professor at the Institute for Artand Culture Sciences of the Academy of FineArts Vienna. Focal points of his research arepop music as a model of contemporaryculture, net cultures and entertainmentarchitecture, and neo formalisms. Claire Dohertyis director of 'Situations' and seniorresearch fellow in Fine Art at University ofthe West of England . Over the past she hasinvestigated new models of curatorialpractice beyond conventional exhibitionmodels at a range of institutions such asIkon Gallery in Birmingham, Spike Island inBristol and FACTin Liverpool. She initiated'Situations' in 2003 as a new model ofcommissioning and research programmewithin a university context. From 2008 till2009 she was curatorial director of the OneDay Sculpture series in New Zealand. In 2008she got the Paul Hamlyn Breakthrough FundAward. She lectures and publishes widely oncuratorial issues and is editor of such asSituation (2009) and From Studio to Situation(2004).

Silvia Eiblmayris an art historian, lector, author and curator.From 1999 till 2008 she was director ofGalerie im Taxispalais/Galerie des LandesTirol in Innsbruck, Austria. She lectured atvarious national and international academicinstitutions. She is advisory board memberof Kontakt, the collection of Erste GroupBank, university council member of theAcademy of Fine Arts Vienna and AdvisoryBoard Member for photography of federalministry of art, culture and education(BMUKK). In 2000 she received the Aby­Warburg-Foundation's Hans -Reimer-Award.In 2009, with Valie Export, she was commis­sioner of the Austrian Pavilion at the 53thVenice Biennial. She is author and editor ofnumerous essays and publications, such asDie Frau als Bild (1993).

Brigitte Franzenis an art and cultural scientist and since2009 she is director of Ludwig Forum fiirInternationale Kunst in Aachen. From 2005till 2009 she was head of the contemporarycollection at the Westfalisches Landesmu­seum in Miinster. In 2007 together withKasper Konig she curated the exhibitionskulptur projekte munster 07. In 2005 shefounded the "Skulptur Projekte Archive ,"which for the first time was exhibited in2007 . Since 1993 she has curated numerousexhibition projects about art in 20th and21st century. She is editor and author ofseveral publications about contemporary art,such as Wem gehOrt die Stadt? (2009),Mikrolandschaften / Microlandscapes (2006)and Landschaftstheorie (2005) .

Christine Frisinghelliis an cultural scientist, curator, senior editorand chief editor of the Camera AustriaInternational magazine and since 2003 shedirects the exhibition program of CameraAustria, Graz. In addition she is editor of thepublication series Edition Camera Austria.From 1975 till 1995 she was co-curator (withManfred Willmann) of the photographyprogram of Forum Stadtpark, Graz, which shedirected as vice chair from 1987 till 1995.From 1996 till 1999 she was artistic directorof steirischer herbst festival. Martin Fritz(born in 1963, lives in Vienna, Austria) iscurator, consultant and publicist. From 1996till 1998 he was director of operations anddirector of program planning for the reopen­ing of P.S.1 Contemporary Art Center in NewYork, from 1998 till 2000 executive directorof the Expo 2000 's art project In Betweenin Hannover and from 2000 till 2002 chiefcoordinator of the European art biennialManifesta 4 (Frankfurt a.M., 2002). Mostrecently he directed the Festival derRegionen in Upper Austria from 2004 till2009. Current publications are in artist-and exhibition catalogues, online mediaand journals.

Emiliano Gandolfi(born in 1975, lives in Rotterdam, Nether­lands) works as assistant lecturer, architectand curator. He is co-founder of "Cohabita­tion Strategies" and the cooperative platform·REbiennale." He was co-curator of the11th International Architecture Exhibition(Biennale di Venezia, 2008) , the InternationalArchitecture Biennial Rotterdam (2007) andcurator at the Netherlands Arch itectureInstitute in Rotterdam. Over the past yearshe has been involved in a wide range ofprojects, exhibitions and conferences thatdealt with methodologies and interventionsfor urban transformation. He is currentlyguest teacher at the National University ofthe Arts in Taiwan, TU Delft in The Nether­lands and advisor for the Curry StoneDesign Prize .

S0ren Grammel(born in 1971, lives in Graz, Austria) is acultural scientist, curator and since 2005he is director of Grazer Kunstverein. In 2001he curated the 9th edition of the VideonaleBonn and several exhibitions at MiinchnerKunstverein. The Frieze magazine awardedthe exhibition Die Blaue Blume at GrazerKunstverein with the label Best ThemedShows 2007. Most recently he was curator­in-residence at the Academy of Fine ArtsVienna . He published Ausstellungsautor­schaft: Die Konstruktion der auktorialenPosition des Kurators bei Harald Szeemann(2005). He is editor of a multiplicity ofpublications such as Andreas Fogarasi:Information (2008) and GesammelteDrucksache (2005).

Simone Hain(born in 1956, lives in Graz, Austria) is ahistorian for architecture and urbanplanning, appraiser, publicist, curator andteaches as professor and director at theInstitute of Urban and Architectural Historyat the University of Technology Graz. In the1990s she was member of the federal statemonument protection board of Berlin anddirector of the field of study for newerconstruction and planning history at theLeibniz Institut fiir Regionalentwicklung undStrukturplanung in Erkner. From 2005 till2006 she was Gropius chair holder for thehistory of modern architecture at theBauhaus -Universttat Weima r. In 2003 shecurated (with Hartmut Frank) the ifa exhibi­t ion Zwei deutsche Architekturen 1949-1989.She is author of Wolfgang Hensct: ­Architekt der Dresdner Moderne (2009), Zweideutsche Architekturen 1949-1989 (2004)and Reise nach Moskau (1995) .

David Joselitis Carnegie Professor of the History of Artat Yale University where he served asdepartment chair from 2006 t ill 2009. He isauthor of Infin ite Regress: Marcel Duchamp1910-1941 (1998) , American Art Since 1945(2003) , and Feedbac k: Television AgainstDemocracy (2007) . He is an ed ito r of thejournal October and wr ites regularly oncontemporary art and culture.

Veronica Kaup-Hasleris director of the Graz based arts festivalsteirischer herbst since 2006. Previouspositions include dramatic adviser at BasleTheatre (1993 -1995), and for the WienerFestwochen (1995- 200 1), from 1998 on asartistic collaborator of theatre director LucBondy. Other work include d lecturing inprofe ssor Erich Wonder's master classes att he Academy of Fine Art Vienna (1998­2001) and the artistic dire ctorship ofbiennial Festival Theaterformen in Hannoverand Braunschweig (2001-2004). In addition ,she is active in international juries and since2008 member of the Council of the Univer­sity of Music and Performing Arts Vienna.

Francesco Manacorda(born in 1974, lives in London and Turin)is a crit ic, curator and currently artisticdirector of Artiss ima, the international fairof contemporary a rt in Tur in, Italy. Hecompleted an MA in cu rat ing contemporaryart at t he Royal College of Art, London.Between 2007 and 2009 he was cu rator atthe Barbican Art Gallery, London, where herealised the exhib itions Martian Museum ofTerrestrial Art (2008) and Radical Nature(2009). He has written extensively forDomus, Flash Art Italia, Flash Art Internatio­nal, Frieze, Metropolis M , Piktogram, Untitled,and Art Review.

Doreen Mende(born in 1976, lives in Berlin, Germany), PhD,author and cur ator, is founding member ofthe publication series DISPLAYER of theprogram Exh ib it ion Design and Cura to rialPractice at State Unive rs ity of Art andDesign / ZKM Karlsruhe, and of theproject/space "Gener al Public" in Ber lin . Shecurrently undertakes journeys to the MiddleEast as practice-part of her ongoing curator­ial research in the think-tank PhD-project"Curatorial/Knowledge" at the GoldsmithsCollege, Un iversity of London.
