I am going to Exeter University in October to study English Literature, as this is my main interest. I would love to be a journalist or an author one day. MD AL-AMIN SHAIKH, BANGLADESHI got myself admitted into Khulna University of Bangladesh in Forestry and Wood Technology Discipline. Now I am a third year student of this discipline. As I am a student of forestry, I engage my self in different research activities which are related to forest and wildlife conservation.

SM MEHEDI JAMAN, BANGLADESHI am a student of class-XII of Munshigonj College, situated in my own locality. I am still working as volunteer of Save our children fund for three years. I am also accompanied with the social development network of my village.

CHECHEY, BHUTAN, PAROI completed my twelth standart from Drukgyel Higher Secondary school, Paro. Currently I am undertaking the Bachelor of Primary Education second year of the four year programme in Paro College of Education. I helped the school administration taking up an important responsibility of Councilor and participated in clubs, scouting, culture and agriculture before in my school days as well as in the college which will lend a hand in the Youth Tiger Summit.

Tigers being in danger of extinction and I personally want to make people aware of the importance of the tiger and let them join hand to fight this concerned issue.

DAWA, BHUTAN, DAGANAI am currently undergoing my teacher training at Paro college of education. Before I joint these college I did my class XII from Damphu Higher Secondary School, Tsirang. I am a literary club member in the college with the identity of news reporter.

My interest behind joining YTS is that I as future educator can play and influence important roles in preserving and conserving the tiger through educating, creating awareness to the public by means of campaigning and even encouraging my friends at profession to infuse the value of existing tigers to the children.

DOAN HOANG AN, VIETNAM, HA NOII have spent 7 years living, studying and working abroad. My major course of studies is Liberal Studies, a multi-disciplinary program. My greatest achievement is to be financially independant from my parents for these 7 years.

Through a combination of hard work and merit scholarship, I am able to not only cover all my cost in school but also fund other traveling experience to learn more about the world. A trip to Kenya has changed my views significantly. Along with traveling, I’m passionate about helping others and protecting our common house, the earth.

LE MINH QUOC, VIETNAM, HOCHIMINH CITYI’m studying at Faculty of Information Technology, University of Science, HoChiMinh City. During the time at University, I have joined in many cultural exchange and voluntary activities, such as: World Race, Study Exchange 2009, Green Summer, ... And I was one of volunteer core leaders of Earth Hour Vietnam 2010.

ANUSHA SHANKAR, INDIA, CHENNAI, TAMIL NADUI have always been fascinated by and passionate about the animal world. I decided, long ago, to pursue this passion professionally. As a result, I am now in the final year of a Master’s degree in Ecology and Environmental Sciences at Pondicherry after a Bachelor’s degree in Zoology. A Summer Fellowship with the Indian Academy of Sciences, and volunteer activities with the Wildlife Trust of India (in Panbari Reserve Forest, Assam), Madras Crocodile Bank and the Agumbe Rainforest Research Station, have given me both theoretical and field exposure to Wildlife conservation and animal behavior.

I am also crazy about wildlife and abstract photography. Though it is a steep climb, there is hope to save the miraculous and astounding diversity on this planet. I know I can help.

DEVANSHU SOOD, INDIA, NEW DELHII am currently a student of Class XI at The Shri Ram School, Moulsari Avenue, DLF Phase III, Gurgaon. I have been a part of the ‘Save the Tiger’ initiative undertaken by our school in partnership with Sanctuary Asia Kids for Tigers since the age of nine. Currently I am involved in the relocation of the Mogiya Tribe in Ranthambhore which has been found responsible for carrying out the majority of poaching activities related to Tigers in Ranthambhore National Park.

I am currently also involved with the NDTV–Aircel ‘Save Our Tigers’ campaign. Saving the Tiger is a metaphor for saving the forest and all the creatures that reside in it. By saving the Tiger we inadvertantly save the forest and all its flora and fauna.

LELY PUSPITASARI, INDONESIA, MADIUNI am in my third year student of Faculty of Forestry UGM majoring Forest Product Technology department. I was a delegate of the 37th International Forestry Student’ Symposium (IFSS) in Indonesia and elected as internal commission of Asian regional representative of International Forestry Students’ Association (IFSA). Now, I am the vice president of IFSA (International Forestry Students’ Association) LC UGM period 2010-2011.

I’m highly motivated in nature conservation, have lots of creative ideas to make inovation how to invite youth joining tiger and nature conservation.

AMALIA ANINDIA, INDONESIA, BEKASII am currently a student of Forest Faculty of Gadjah Mada University, majoring Forest Resource Conservation. I’ve been active in IFSA (International Forestry Students’ Association) locally and internationally.

I was recently elected to lead IFSA Local Committee Gadjah Mada University as the President (2010-2011). These are the most important accomplishments I’ve made so far.

I have been taught to love and respect animals since I was a child. And personally, I think saving the tigers means saving a part of the culture - saving a heritage.

CHEM SREY OEUN, CAMBODIA, PHNOM PENHI just graduated from Royal University of Phnom Penh majoring in Sociology, and I am a junior student at Norton Univeristiy. Through my good accademic performance, I had been selected to take an exam for being an exchange student to study in Japan. I used to work as an interpreter for foriegn investors of NECFEC organization during National Election in 2008.

I extremly enjoy involving in social activities because I want to take part in country development, and I hope that Cambodia is on the right track to Sustainable development. Therefore, I have done many volunteer works for Cambodian society.

KHEANG SEANGLY, CAMBODIA, PHNOM PENHI am a graduate majoring Environmental Science of Royal University of Phnom Penh and I was required to write a research paper at the end my academic year. My research’s topic entitled “How does local Knowledge Contribute to Biodiversity Conservation”. I was fortunately asked to do presentation twice.

YANG XIAOCHEN, CHINA, WUHANI study at Jianghan University Graphic Design second-year student. As a design major student who concerns about the sustainability of our planet and the livelihood of wild tigers, as well as a supporter of WWF,I would like to devoted myself to tiger conservation. I’ve participated in this year’s design contest in China organized by Oneshow and WWF. My friend and I made a poster together to evoke people’s concerns for wild tigers, especially for Siberian tigers that are in grave danger of extinction.

To get more people involved in WWF's global tiger initiative, we could focus on making efforts to publicize the severe conditions that wild tigers face currently by designing posters as well as booklets or organizing events that are suitable for the youths to attend.

CEN XUE, CHINA, CHANGCHUNI’m a junior student from the Northeast Normal University, China, and my speciality is Ecology. My reach area is about ecological balance and biological conservation. At university, I joined the environment protection association and took active part in various environment protection activities.

I have been conferred the title of “Excellent Volunteer of Environment Protection” in the World Environment Day, 2009; Take part in the society practise about the environmental protection awareness of people rural area. Achievement lies on action, every experience is valuable.

I will bring the enthusiasm and sincerity of China youth to the YTS. Limited resources can work up limitless creativity.

PHOUTHAMALY SENGPHAATHITH, LAOS, VIENTIANEI am a 4th year university student at faculty of Environmental Science, National University of Laos, majoring in Environmental Science. I go to university in the morning and I work as a teacher assistant at Vientiane College for Young Learner course in the evening and also taking an English class there.

I have been involving in a good number of environmental activities which resulted from being a membership of Social Environmental Education and Development (SEED) Volunteer group at my faculty. I want to create «Friends of Tigers» club.

NG KHAI LEE, MALAYSIA, PETALING JAYAI am the cofounder of Youth Asia, a group of companies related to youth research, social media advertising, and community organizing. Youth Asia owns the youth rewards platform YouthSays.com where over 300,000 members across Malaysia, Vietnam, Indonesia and the Philippines get rewarded for doing surveys and promoting online advertising campaigns.

I completed my degree in business at the top 2% of his class a Valedictorian having studied in University of Technology, Sydney and San Francisco State University. I also won the Asian HSBC Young Entrepreneur Award in 2006, the first (and only) time the award was given to Malaysians.

SOUSATA CHEMCHENG, LAOS, VIENTIANENI completed ‘O’ level and ‘A’ level education in Singapore. During my secondary school days, I actively participated in various community involvement programs organized by the school teachers or by student bodies. I dream to be a Tiger Ambassador so that, in the future, I can be more actively and more effectively help to conserve wild animals in Laos, as one of the many important ways to save our world and our humanity.

I suggest that we can raise the public awareness of tiger conservation in Laos after the summit by giving an education talk on radio. In collaboration with related organizations such as WWF, ministry of agriculture and forestry, Lao national television, we can also crate a documentary and show it on Lao national television.

JOEL NEOH EU-JIN, MALAYSIA, SUBANG JAYAI am the cofounder of Youth Asia, a group of companies that believes in the collective power of youths. I am the winner of Malaysia’s first corporate reality TV show, The Firm also led Youth Malaysia (before its rebranding to Youth Asia) to bag the Youth Friendly Company of the Year in 2007.

MAUNG HLAING WIN , MYANMAR, BANGKOKI am a 4th year university student at St. John’s University with the faculty of Business Administration majoring in Marketing. I also have experience of studing at Mahidol University majoring in Environmental Science for a semester and at No.1 Medical College in Myanmar for a year. Both my parents are working with the NGOs, my mom with Save the Children and my dad with the WWF.

I put high values in conserving and preserving the nature’s fauna and flora. This is because Eath is my home and we have learnt since primary years that it is the only habitat planet among all the other planets in our solar system. Therefore, it’s our responsibility and duty to take care of our only home and make it a better place for us to live in.

KHIN MOE PYAYT, MYANMAR, , YANGON, BANGKOKI have already finished my high school in Yangon,Burma with four distinctions_English, Biology,Chemistry,Physics. I came to Shinawatra University in 2009, after I have finished my high school exam. I am eager to save the nature and the wildlife, especially the magnificent species- tigers when they are facing problems which is caused by the human beings or the nature. And I also want to have the experience of the YTS campaign.

KABITA KUNWAR, NEPAL, CHITWANI got my school education from Blue Bird English Boarding school & passed SLC with distinction. Now, I am going to join Orchid college in science stream with Biology for getting higher education. During my childhood I got opportunity to watch wildlife along with tiger and one-horned rhino in Chitwan National park. As I heard that they are in the verge of extinction.

As I am curious towards wildlife, I was greatly shocked with that information. This driven my innocence strong desire came from my heart and soul for conservation. And I forwarded my first step towards conservation after I became Eco club member in my school.

PRADEEP RIJAL, NEPAL, NEPALGUNJI am chair of Eco-club in Bardiya district. Now days, I am awaring people for the conservation of Tigers through Eco Club. During my leadership, our Eco Club has also been awarded by Abraham Conservation Award (1999) due to performing fruitful activities for conservation tasks here in Nepal.

I am also secretary of Thakurbaba Youth Club. This club is stimulating youths to take responsibility to preserve Tigers. Very recently, under my leadership we have performed a street drama named" PASCHATAP KO ANSU” for the great conservationist and high level delegation of WWF US. They had recently visited Jagadamba Eco Club, Bardiya . It was also observed by WWF Nepal team and other very interestingly.

ANZHELA BEBIKOVA, RUSSIA, KOMSOMOLSK-NA-AMUREThis year I graduated from the Natural Geography Faculty, Amur State University of Humanities and Pedagogy. Sense 2006 I became a member of the student practical nature-preserve community called “Nizhneamurskaya ecological control”. 2 times I was a member of School of Young Environmental Inspectors. Sense 2009 I have been working in Komsomolsky Reserve in department of Environmental Education.

In 2009 I took part in the Regional Competition of socially significant projects “My initiative” and in the All-Russian scientific-practical conference" Voluntary movement ". In 2009 and 2010 I took part in speech-contest in Japanese language.

LAPAEV DMITRY, RUSSIA, MOSCOWAt the moment I am the student of Moscow State University on faculty of political science. My specialty is environmental politics. My practical experience in ecological sphere: Participation in organization of Ecological project. It was the platform for expert dialog.

Honestly, I’m not an expert in tiger. And I have no professional communicative skills. I’m just communicative, interested in ecology, trying to be active in this sphere. I have a desire and I’m ready to participate in YTS.

EKATERINA POIDA, RUSSIA, BLAGOVESHCHENSKI am a 4th course student of Blagoveshchensk State Teacher Training University. Since 2004 I started scientific researches of biology. In 2005 I was rewarded with “Bonus of President in Support to talented young people” as a winner of all-Russian biology competition.

Three times I’ve successfully taken part in International Ecological Camps at Muraviovka park of Sustainable land use. In 2010 I have won all-Russian competition “My small Motherland”. I have 5 published articles about biological researches in Amur region.

DARIA FILIPPOVA, RUSSIA, VLADIVOSTOKI am a student of Far Eastern National Technical University, my subject is geo-ecology. I take active part in different social activities. Three friends of mine and I organize Vladivostok youth ecological forum «Green Light». On this forum we make our own projects, and at the same time we help other people to do something to solve environmental problems in our city.

During 6 last months I worked in «tiger theme»: I gave some lessons at school about tiger and trainings about biodiversity. In summer I helped with organization of children ecological camp «Land of leopard» and than, in August, I worked at “Tiger Seminar'”. And in September I took participation in Tiger Expedition with German students.

SUPATCHAYA TECHACHOOCHERT, THAILAND, BANGKOKI choosed to study in the field of Biology; nowaday, I am studying at Faculty of Science, Mahidol University. Besides, I am interested in ecology and biodiversity.

Since high school, I have done many activities on environmental issue. Then, I have got Youth Outstanding award of Thailand 2007 on natural resource and environment. I participated in Bayer Young environmental Envoy, Asia-Europe Young Volunteers Exchange, and ASEAN Youth Wallacae Expedition. I am a member of Development and Promotion of Science and Technology talents project (DPST).

NUTCHANON BOONSORN, THAILAND, BANGKOKI graduated my High school last year from Nonsi Witthaya School and I am currently studying at Shinawatra University in the School of Technology, the Management Technology program for my Bachelor degree.

I think that Tigers are facing problems right now, and we all need to do something, in order to prevent the extinction of the tigers, otherwise the balance of the ecosystem might be unbalanced. Tigers need help, and we all can do something about it.
