Guest essay: A looming clash between U.S., China?By Les BreuerMessenger PostPosted Aug 13, 2011

The term “sleeping with the enemy” has taken on new meaning as we are hugely indebted financially to this potential adversary. At the official level, the U.S. pretends to regard China in a benevolent way, much as an artist regards a major patron of the arts.

Make no mistake, China’s government is not benevolent and certainly does not have the United States’ best interests at heart. China’s willingness to loan money comes with very strong strings attached, which, at present, appear as invisible wire but in the future will manifest as large threatening cables with slip knots at the ends from which to control us and eventually eliminate us from superpower status.

So when a product claims to be donating to the organization, it is required to state in plain English how much is being given to Susan G. Komen for the Cure.“There are a lot of packaged goods and programs that just say that they’re donating to 'breast cancer charities’ or 'breast cancer research,’ but never say which ones or how much. We want the public to know firsthand exactly how much this company is willing to commit to the fight against breast cancer,” Gogerty said.

Read the fine print to verify what that pink ribbon meansJust because someone or something sports a pink ribbon doesn’t necessarily ensure it’s associated with an organization that raises money for breast cancer research and treatment.Posted: October 23, 2010
