Entrepreneurship: Idea to Product How can knowledge and research output be converted into an entrepreneurial venture that provides benefit to society? What constitutes an invention and what is the intellectual property that can be commercialized? How can students get started with this process? This workshop for graduate students and post-‐doctoral researchers will introduce key concepts for technical entrepreneurship. During this introductory two hour session we will present examples of University startups, illustrate how to identify a viable idea based on your technical expertise, understand the intellectual property options, explore possible target markets and do initial planning for a sustainable business. Entrepreneurship is a viable career option! Emanuel Istrate, Impact Centre, University of Toronto
