face shining like the sun, held his arms out to nothing. Charlotte could see his

shirt hike up where Susie grabbed him, but she could not see the hands that

scooped him through the air and dumped him in the crib. Staticky, fading in

and out, she heard a voice: “Don’t know why...play with such...naughty boy.”

No Small Thing by Natale Ghent Cid bursts out laughing and then we all start to laugh. It was kind of funny.

... But Ma doesn’t think so. She starts yelling the second I walk through the door. “Oh, my God, what happened to you? Who did this? They won’t be so brave if I go to see them!” Great.
