Hello Lions and Lioness,
I hope everyone had a happy and safe holiday sea-son. Party hard on New Year’s Eve but stay safe. With the new year coming we will get back to the business of Lionism. Let’s remember there are still people out there that need our help year round. It
is now time to recruit new members so we can con-tinue the good works we do helping the needy. The cabinet meeting form is in this newsletter. Please plan on attending as we need to nominate and vote in our 2nd VDG, Lion Don Stewart from the Bloomfield Lions Club. The next round of bills will be coming from LCI and MD20 in January. Let’s get these dues paid promptly so we don’t get into arrears.

Lions, as I put this newsletter together, I could not help
but see all the special service projects conducted by Lions
in our District. As you continue to serve your communities
I would ask each Club to reflect on their service and identi-
fy one of their most meaningful service project. It does
not necessarily have to be one that was completed this
year.
I have set up a number of visitations over the next couple
of months and look forward to meeting Club members and
have you share your successes.

APALACHIN LIONS CLUB
The beginning of this month we showed what we can do as a club with the Christmas Basket Program. We delivered baskets to 44 families this year and helped countless
in need. A total of 1,350 plus pounds of food was collected and delivered to the Park Terrance Food Bank. This activity is by far our clubs most involved project; from the
Food Parade, to the wrapping party, to delivering the baskets on Saturday Morning. There are also countless activities behind the seen that Lion Vince, Gerry and Com-
pany do to make this a great success. Our club have done activities like this for al-most 60 years and hopefully will for another 60.

The year ends with a busy December which included the delivery of Angel Tree presents, donations to
the local Food Pantries, Good Neighbor Fund, vision screenings as well as Salvation Army Bell Ringing.
This year everyone particularly generous and we collected well over $3,000 to send to the Wayne Coun-
ty Salvation Army. The funds that are collected result from bell ringers standing in the cold and snow
outside of the Macedon Walmart. Okay so one of the days was over 60 and many of the other days
never got below 55 degrees. All in all it was a pleasant event each night from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
The shoppers were excited to see us and donate we collected at two doors and could really see the im-
provement.
The popcorn machines got their annual clean out and up and are ready for the 2016 season. The collec-
tion of eye glasses continues as the record number of used eye glasses grows. The weather has been
great and we have had a reprieve from snow and cold. The Historic Palmyra work continues as winter
projects are headed up by Lion Ed Plesa.
As many of our members head to the south for some much needed rest and warmth, those of us that
are left, continue to carry on. We ended the year with a Christmas Party having a most delectable feast.
We find that a white elephant auction to help our Admin. Fund with unforeseen expenses raises well
over $200. The evening was full of fun and great times and we look forward to beginning the New Year
with our first meeting January 5th at the Alling Coverlet Museum. We welcome all of our neighboring Li-
on Clubs to come on down and join us for the best food and fun the first and third Tuesday of each
month.

November and December have been busy months for the Lion-
ess Club of Sodus. November saw the ladies out cleaning
up their section of Route 88 between Sodus and Newark.
This is a semi-annual event for the local club. Also in
November the ladies hosted a luncheon for the senior citi-
zens at the local Sodus Estates, and wrapped Christmas
gifts for the residents of the local ARC home. December
saw the club hosting the annual "Breakfast With Santa" ...
a big hit with Sodus children and their parents! The Li-
ons Club of Sodus performed sight screening of children
during the breakfast, and the Girl Scouts helped serve
food as part of their volunteer work. It has been a busy,
satisfying season of giving for the ladies.
