50/50 DRAWING 3/6/14 & 3/20/14

At the General Meeting on March 6, 2014,

your editor, Lion Sally Carter, won the 50/50

drawing! It was the first time winning for

me! The drawing was for $48.00. Yippee!

It was Foster Rein winning the 50/50 drawing

at the General Meeting on March 20, 2014.

Lucky Lion Foster won $44.00. I believe this

was his first time winning. Congratulations

Foster!

STUDENT SPEAKER WINNER

The winner of our Student Speaker Contest held in February

2014, was Miss Katrina Staples. Katrina and her Mother joined

us at our General Meeting on March 6, 2014. Katrina gave an

outstanding speech regarding “Community Service”.

In addition, Katrina won the Zone Speaker’s contest repre-

senting the Foothill Lions Club. And, Katrina will participate in

the Region Speaker’s contest on March 25, 2014 at 7:00 pm in

Marysville.

Congratulations to this fine young lady and her family.

Katrina will go far with whatever she chooses to pursue in her

life. JOB WELL DONE!

Monday night comfort food

on March 8th was Lion Ms.

Gertie’s fantastic Meatloaf

Dinner with all the fixiins!

Everyone enjoyed the wonder-

ful food prepared by Lion Ger-

tie and her team. The money earned from this event

is “earmarked” for the expenses of the renovations to

the ladies restroom. New tile,

new stalls and a pretty makeover!

Thanks to our Club Manager, Lion

Gertie Moore!

MARCH CRAB/SHRIMP DINNER!

The final crab/shrimp dinner

was a sold-out success. All

had their fill of the succulent

crab and shrimp with all the

fixings.

Chairman Lion Roberta Hal-

comb and her team outdid

themselves with this function.

Congratulations! Now we have to wait until

later this year for the Lioness dinner !

The 4-H members did

an outstanding job

serving the crowd who

were definitely hungry

for this feast! A big

“shout-out” to these

young people for all

their hard work.

The hall was packed

with people and all

had a good time and

certainly enjoyed all

the action.

The raffle prizes were

plentiful thanks to the

many donations from the membership.

“THANK YOU FROM LION ROBERTA HALCOMB

CHAIRPERSON OF CRAB/SHRIMP FEED”

Wow! What a great community outreach and once

again a very successful crab/shrimp feed. Everyone

enjoyed the fellowship and the menu of orderves,

yummy salad, hot bread, scrumptious pasta, crab,

shrimp, wine and “those homemade cookies” The

raffle was a hit too!

Thank you to all who “stepped up to the

plate” and helped. Thank you to all that

bought tickets and enjoyed this feast.

Thank you to the 4-H for all their help! Job well

done! Now we wait for next year’s Spring Crab/
