Elected PositionsMSci IT for Creative Industries Departmental Representative – Second Year: I am a voice for the students with this role. I attend a variety of meetings with the staff within my department and we discuss matters that are affecting the student population while brainstorming on ways to effectively communicate change with the students. I have completed a bronze level representative training course which works on assessing your ability to lead and represent students.

Lancaster University Take2 Cinema – Treasurer: This is a very valuable position that requires a certain degree of trust as I am solely in charge of the bank accounts and funds for the entire cinema. This is a position I am very proud to have attained and shows that I am a trustworthy and competent worker. Through this society I am also a trained cinema projectionist in both TMS and CMS systems.

Lancaster University Judo Society – President: For this position I am in charge of attending all meetings and taking coherent and clear minutes. I have responsibility when organising functions and showcases for the society as well as being in charge of the wellbeing and safety of the club members

Key SkillsTeam work – These have developed in a variety of different jobs, most importantly Forrest Archiving as I worked within a small team to implement a very large change in a rather short time period. Also developed this skill whilst working as bar staff at the Sugarhouse, I was a member of a larger team of around 20 people where we were tasked with the job of serving inebriated customers and handling money. In every elected position described above I have worked as part of a team of student volunteers to impact the student population and generate positive feedback and a good representation of the society. I am aware of the importance of a positive reputation and make this a major concern when joining a new team or company.

Problem Solving – This has been a large part of the majority of my jobs, both academic and employment, over the past few years. The largest problem that I was able to competently solve would be the archiving system that I implemented within a large company in a short time period.

Specialist SkillsProgramming Languages - I have experience in C and Java programming languages, both of which I have gained through a first year university module called Software Engineering. Using Java I created a high fidelity prototype of a supermarket till system. This involved working with a variety of different classes and instance variables to create a working piece of software.

Project Contribution – During the summer of 2014 I was a part of the British Youth Film Association where I acted as assistant editor on the set of the film ‘All the Ordinary Angels’. My input impacted this project massively with the majority of my suggestions being taken on board and implemented. My contribution was seen as ‘valuable’ and ‘enthusiastic’ according to higher level production staff.
